Dreaming Of A Bigger Garden & Plans for 2017

I've mentioned numerous times before on the blog how much I hate our garden. In fact you can't really call it a garden because it doesn't even have any grass! It's basically just a back yard with some concrete slabs and a set of table and chairs. But it was the one sacrifice we made when we moved here four years ago as it's a much nicer house. I have also shared many plans over the years to make the space a bit nicer but as we never spend any time in it I've always put it off, especially as the weather has been pretty rubbish and we never really have a summer to be able to sit and enjoy it.

However this year, now that the house is pretty much finished and I don't have any more rooms in the house to decorate I have decided to concentrate on the garden, as long as the great British weather will allow me to. I'm really looking forward to having another space to relax in whether permitting.

I plan to paint the fence, buy some planters and also buy a big shed for storage. We currently have a small wooden bunker to keep bikes and other tools in but I feel that it's not big enough especially now that the kids are getting older and soon they'll both have bikes which will need locking away.

I have also been looking at garden tools from SGS Engineering as I would like to buy a pressure washer to be able to clean the concrete slabs myself instead of paying someone else to come and do them and I also need a hedge trimmer to keep the hedge at the back looking neat and tidy.

The kids don't miss out because we don't have a garden to play in as we live in the country side and we're always out exploring and getting fresh air but it would be nice when we begin to hit the warmer months so they can play outside with the sand pit, get the paddling pool out and enjoy the sun like all their friends do.

Some day when I own a house of my own I can only dream of having a bigger garden with decking, lots of nice plants and flowers, inviting friends over for BBQ's in the summer or sunbathing whilst the kids are at school. But I guess by the time that happens the kids will probably have left home!

Do you have any plans for your garden this year?

  2. We had our garden done last year but need to treat the decking and gate. We also could do with some outdoor furniture!
