The OA, De-cluttering & Sunny Walks #LittleLoves

Happy Friday everyone!

This week has flown by! In fact the whole month has. How is it February next week? I feel like the weeks go by so fast now that the kids go to their dads for longer which means I get two evenings a week to myself some weeks and those days drag! I try to plan stuff for my child free time but like this week some weeks I don't have anything planned and the house is so quiet and lonely. I need more friends! Haha!

Here's what we've been enjoying this week:

Amelia came home with "Star of the week" this week for the first time and it was so lovely to read why they gave it to her. I am so proud that she has been woking hard with her work is always polite at school because she definitely isn't at home that's for sure!

I have been looking for a new series to watch on Netflix ever since I finished watching PLL and up to date with The Walking Dead and came across The OA. I don't usually watch much on Netflix and this isn't my usual time of programme but after the first episode I was drawn in! I binge watched it this week and watched the last episode last night. I was kind of disappointed with the ending as I really enjoyed the series and kept wanting to know more, so I'm hoping there is a second one!

Also, the kids have been enjoying watching Disney films this week. We have the Disney Life app which is amazing and means they can watch what ever films they want and means I don't have to buy all of the Disney films!

This week I "made" a start on de-cluttering the house and becoming more minimalistic. One of my new year resolutions this year is to be more organised and finally get rid of a load of crap I don't need. I did de-clutter before Christmas surprisingly and I do seem to be going to the skip every two weeks recently but I somehow still had stuff to get rid of! I've noticed that I keep hold of so much crap which I think I may need again when in reality it sits in a drawer or box for a year or two until I find it again. I've nearly finished de-cluttering and then I'll move on to our wardrobes.

It's so cold at the moment so we have all been wrapping up warm. Last weekend it was really sunny and you would never had guessed it was January apart from how cold it was and the fact that there were ice puddles everywhere. It also gave me a chance to wear my new bobble hat I was given at Christmas.

Ed's tour dates have been released this week and I'm thinking of going in April although it's Amelia's birthday that weekend! So I have been listening to a lot of his songs this week. I wasn't so keen on this one when I first heard it but after hearing it on the radio a lot recently it's kind of grown on me! Hopefully I can get some tickets when they go on sale next week.
I'm looking forward to a lazy weekend with the kids. I really missed when they were at their dads this week so really looking forward to spending some time with them both. Also, I'm trying not to spend any money at the moment so if we do go out it will be somewhere inexpensive or for a walk if it's not raining.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Love your fireplace and all your bits and pieces on/around it, it looks gorgeous! Ha ha I often wonder if my little one's teachers are speaking about the same child, he certainly isn't the angel they seem to think he is at home that's for sure. Have a great weekend x

  2. I LOVE that Ed Sheeran song too! What a comeback. I need to get on with decluttering our house, there never seems to be enough time, especially as we are renovating the entire downstairs. Enjoy your lazy weekend xx

  3. I hope you're having a lovely weekend with the kids. I need to take a leaf out of your book and declutter but with all the work going on I'm just surrounded by rubbish! When it's done I'll be a cleaning, organising, sorting machine! x

  4. I've been decluttering too. There is so much stuff in our lives that quite frankly I'm sick of looking at it. Feels satisfying to clearly it all away

  5. Give The life-changing magic of tidying up and Spark Joy a go. They'll put you in a mindset to get rid off those 'just in case' bits. Well done to Amelia for Star of the Week! They're completely different at school to home. x

  6. I have started clearing off our crappy table. I can't wait until it is in the dump.
I was wondering what kind of language that sheet is but I presume it's Welsh?

  7. I love Ed Sheeran. I bet he's amazing in concert. I'm still hoping to get my hands on some Robbie Williams tickets, although I'm not hopeful.

Well done to Amelia for her award. Is Welsh the first language in schools? x

    1. Ahh fingers crossed! I saw Take That last year and it was amazing!

It is but she is in a bilingual school so they tend to do the work in welsh but speak to them in English or Welsh depending on preference. I don't speak it to her at home but she can count and say the alphabet and lots of other words too x

  8. Commenting on behalf of myself and Morgana this week: Oh me too hunny, I have been on a declutter, cleaning rampage for about two weeks now. I have cupboard and closets getting organized, ebay selling, garage clear outs. Wish I had enough energy to do the loft maybe when it's warmer. Good for you. Loving your little walks and photo of Harry and Amelia with their tongues out so adorable. Cheeky monkeys and partners in crime. Way to go on Amelia's award that's fab news! I love how teachers tell us how polite, or kind or quiet even our kids are at school but they are opposite at home sometimes hahaha I tell B would you say or do that in front of Mrs C, so don't do it front of Mommy! lol hahaha Thanks for linking up lovely. #littleloves
