We had a lovely surprise when our December Degustabox turned up a few days before Christmas as I wasn't expecting one. Maggie 3 Minute Noodles
Similar to supernoodles, who doesn't love noodles! These come in three different flavours and we were sent chicken. I'll be honest I couldn't taste much flavour but the kids loved them! Would be interested to try out the beef and curry flavours though.
I'm not really a fan of risotto but this risotto box and expresso risotto are great for quick meals or lunches. They are both with cheese and can be ready in minutes.
Bristows Oh Fudge!
I love fudge but it's usually chocolate flavour so when I saw these in Apple and Cinnamon I was a little dubious what they would taste like. But I needn't have worried because they were delicious! The kids loved them too. They are individually wrapped too so perfect for sharing!
Newton’s Just Apple Fizz
I hadn't come across this brand before, but I really like the packaging of the glass bottle. It's just like appletizer but not as fizzy. It's all natural with no added sugar or sweeteners and about 40% less sugar than apple juice. I really liked it and will definitely be looking out for more at the supermarket. It would be an ideal alternative to beer or wine if you're looking to cut back on the calories. It's best served cold.
This is another brand which I had never heard of before. Also I've heard of coconut water but didn't know this existed. I'm not a fan of watermelon at all so will be giving this to someone else to enjoy. It hydrates just like coconut water, with extra anti-oxidants and is best served cold.
I’ve never heard of this brand before either, nor watermelon water. When poured, it seemed like more of a thick juice. It had a lovely colour to it though, and it was lovely & refreshing. Well, what I managed to taste of it anyway… I managed to knock my glass over with a box and spill it all over the place!
Eisberg Alcohol Free Wine
I'm not a wine drinker but this was a lovely addition to this months box. Eisberg is the UK's number one alcohol free wine brand. It's fresh and aromatic brimming with gooseberry flavours and fruit. This would be great if you're the designated driver over Christmas and New Year or are pregnant and don't want to feel left out. It's completely alcohol free and is only 28kcal per 125ml serving!
I had heard of a2 milk before but have never tried it as I don't drink milk. I put in the in the kids cereal and they haven't noticed any difference so it must take like normal semi skimmed milk. This would go really well with the Nutri-Brex.
This Hoots snacks are multigrain snacks which are a delicious alternative to crisps. I am a huge crisp lover so it was nice to find a healthier alternative. Hoots snacks are baked not fried and have no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. There are a range of different flavours and we were sent the salt and pepper and salt and vinegar which are both delicious.
Bite+ Multi Grain Flakes
When I first saw these I was a little curious as to what they would taste like as they are essentially savoury flavoured cornflakes which doesn't really appeal to me. They are perfect for on the go or for lunch boxes as a healthy alternative as they have less than 3% fat and are high in fibre and low in saturated fats.
I'm not a breakfast eater but these sounded really delicious. Each bite of Nutri-brex is packed with the tasty ancient grain Sorghum. They are naturally gluten free, fortified with vitamins and high in fibre. They have a hint of coconut and cinnamon which makes this a delicious breakfast to get you up and going in the mornings. You could crumble them over yoghurt and fruit for a crunchy tasty topping or even put them in a smoothie.
Bahlsen Lebkuchen Mischung
These are colourful gingerbread pieces glazed with chocolate and are the perfect size for sharing with guests over the festive period (or for yourself).
These traditional heart-shaped lebkuchen sound interesting. They are filled with a spiced jam filling and have a gingerbread base. The kids loved these. They'd be perfect for a mid-morning or afternoon snack. I love Bahlsen products but hadn't come across either of these before.
This months box was interesting, whilst there were some products which we enjoyed there were many which we didn't like. Our favourite products this month were the Newton's Appl Fizzics and the Bahlsen. I still enjoyed receiving the box and seeing what new brands there are to discover.
You can get a whopping £7.00 discount, which means the first box will cost just £5.99 with the code XA1EX at Degustabox.
