Halloween 2016

I was never one to celebrate holiday's other than Christmas however since having kids I've really enjoyed showing them how much fun they can be. I have a little tradition where I will make them a little basket full of themed goodies to open on the day so we started off Halloween with their Halloween basket this morning which they were both really excited to see what was inside. Amelia of course went for the chocolate first and Harry loved playing with the pumpkin torch and soft toys.

I had planned on taking the kids to a local Halloween event but have both been full of cold all week. So we went to Tesco to pick up another pumpkin so the kids both had one each and I needed a few other bits. We had a cheeky Macdonald's for lunch seeing as it was the last day of the holidays I thought I'd treat them both and we headed home to carve our pumpkins, scoff our faces with sweets and watch films. The kids really enjoyed gutting their pumpkins, Amelia got stuck right in and Harry turned his nose up at first but did eventually start getting his hands dirty. I had picked up a cake earlier in the week and a few bits of party food whilst at Tesco today so thought I'd do up a little party table as I had some Halloween decorations to put to good use.

We then got ready for the trick or treaters and the kids loved opening the door to see what everyone was dressed up as. We've never gone trick or treating before but I might take them both next year as Harry will be old enough. It was such a lovely day and nice to spend a relaxing day before getting back to routine tomorrow. I thought I'd share some photos I took of the kids and our little Halloween party.

Did you do anything for Halloween?
