Siblings - Amelia & Harry In July

Last month I decided to take part in more linkys again and linked up with the Sibling Project ran by Lucy. I'm so glad I did because it's made me realise that I need to take more photos of my little family. The past year has flown by so quickly and I feel like I've missed a lot of it, of course I've still got the memories but it's always nice to have photos to look back on.

Today Amelia broke up from school for the summer holidays, I can't believe she's been in nursery at school for a year now and will be moving up to reception class in September. She has really enjoyed nursery and making lots of new friends but I'm glad to have her home for the next 7 weeks so we can get out and spend some time as a family before she starts full time. It will be great for them both to have more time together even though Amelia was at school every day she was only there for a couple of hours at a time or until lunch time if she went to the lunch time club afterwards, so come September we won't be able to go out during the week and will have to make the most of the weekends.

This months photos were taken on a recent walk to Newborourgh Forest, we had been stuck in the house the past week as we were full of colds and even though it was raining I thought it would be good to get outside. Turns out it was sunny when we got there which is a bonus! These aren't the best of photos, as Harry doesn't like to sit still for long but they had a nice walk and Amelia showed Harry lots of different things. We've not really been up to much this past month apart from the odd walk. The weather hasn't been that great at all but we've enjoyed getting out in the fresh air. Now that Harry is older although he's been walking since he turned 1 he's much faster now and doesn't stop every 2 seconds to look at stones so its constantly on the go. We hardly ever take the pushchair out with us now as he prefers to walk.

At home they both play so nicely together, Harry loves playing with Amelia's Peppa Pig figurines and they'll both sit and play with them together. Amelia always shows Harry how to do puzzles and shape sorters and he'll copy what she does. He's always repeating what she says, he tends to listen better to her than us! He's still so affectionate towards Amelia and will lay his head down on her lap or give her cuddles and kisses randomly which melts my heart. Amelia is always so caring towards him, always making sure he's okay and making him laugh.

They've grown so close this past year and a half and I can't believe they've been siblings for 18 months. I'm sure there will be lots of bickering and fighting to come over the years but it's been nice to watch their bond grow closer. On another note, I can't believe I'll have a 4 year old and one and a half year old tomorrow!

  3. These really are such adorable photos- they remind me of me and my brother (although he is the older out of us both) when we were little. They seem so close and you've really captured their bond so nicely in your photos. I love linking up to me and mine and the siblings project- I've captured so many more photos of us as a family than I would have done otherwise. Xx

  7. Amelia seems to be great at taking care of her little brother. This is how it comes across in all the photos anyway. How does she like school? #thesiblingsproject
