Rainy Day Adventures - The Ordinary Moments

Yesterday was the first full day of the summer holidays for us here in North Wales. We awoke around 6am to rain tapping on the window so I put on Netflix on my phone for Amelia and rolled back over to catch some more winks. Harry was still sleeping and never usually wakes up before 9 at the weekends so thats always a bonus. I always have to wake him in the week to do the school run. Once we were all up and dressed Amelia reminded me that I had promised I'd take them out for a walk, which I did however at this moment in time I really couldn't be bothered and just wanted to stay inside and snuggle up and watch a few movies on the sofa.

I knew that it would be a long day stuck inside though and with it raining she couldn't really play out in the garden so I thought we could go for a drive and if the weather brightened up a little then we could go for a walk. It was still raining after lunch but off we went and I remembered a little walk I found earlier in the year which was quite sheltered from the rain and thought it would be perfect to let the kind have a run around.

Amelia would probably stay out in the rain all day, she couldn't give a care in the world. Harry on the other hand can be a little sensitive and doesn't like getting rained on. But luckily we were dry most of the time apart from when we went out into the open. Amelia kept on putting Harrys hood up and telling him he had to keep it on, although he'd take it off 2 seconds later. It's funny watching them now as he's older, and I love that they can go off on little adventures together. Harry does have a tendency to walk off in the opposite direction to us and if you call him back he'll shout no and carry on walking.

It was nice to get some fresh air even if we did get a little drenched. But sometimes you've just got to get out and make the most of it, after all I doubt we're going to get much of a summer here in the UK. We also don't have many soft play centres around here, especially as the one we would always go to closed down a couple of months ago which is a real shame so there's not really much else to do if you don't want to spend a lot of money other than go for a walk!

These photos were only taken on my iPhone so aren't the best but I love that you can see how protective Amelia is of Harry when she has her arm around him or hold out her hand to him and also how fond of Amelia Harry is by the way he looks at her.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend xo

I think that your babies are growing up with your warm embraces. You spent time playing and discovering interesting things with them which makes them more desire to explore the world around.
