Harry At 17 Months

It's been a while since I've done a monthly update on Harry, in fact I think the last one was at 10 months old which seems like forever ago. Harry turned 17 months on June 16th. The months seem to be flying by, I'm not sure if that's just how it is when you have two kids or if life is just busy in general at the moment. He's changed so much over the past 6 months or so and is coming on leaps and bounds. He is such a cheeky boy and so mischievous.

He's still a very good sleeper and will generally sleep from 7pm until 7am or 9am if its the weekend. Some nights it takes him longer to go to sleep and he'll play in his cot or bang his bottle on the wall for attention but once he's has another one he'll go straight back to sleep. I'm so glad he's a better sleeper than Amelia was. He still takes a nap during the day which is usually anytime between 1.30-4, but I'm looking to bring it forward over the holidays ready for when Amelia's at school so it doesn't mess up the school run and he still gets his nap. He's started climbing up on his cot and I've caught him a few times this past couple of weeks so I'm thinking of getting Amelia's toddler bed out of the attic tomorrow and trying him in there instead.

Harry has learnt so many new words over the past few months and is saying so much more. He can now say the following words: Mummy, Daddy, Amelia, Harry, Nana, Grandad, down, up, book, ball, car, bus, choo choo, socks, shoes, night night, bed, bottle, hair, brush, juice, toast, door, bowl, duck, dog, banana, crisps, toast, lunch, chair, more, done, this way, love you, sausages, chicken, kiss just to name a few. He can also point to his noise and hair if we ask him. I can't believe how much he's saying and he's been saying most of these since he turned 1. I don't ever recall Amelia speaking as much as him at this age but then he'll pick it up from her. She's always asking him to repeat words during the day its so sweet.

He is such an affectionate little boy, always coming over to give me cuddles and kisses and loves cuddling on the sofa. Something which his big sister has never liked doing when she was younger which is nice. He's definitely a mummy's boy but is also cuddly with everyone.

He's not the best eater but miles better than Amelia was at this age. He loves sausages and mash, pizza, toast, banana, curry and anything with mash but is quite fussy with fruit and veg and will throw anything he doesn't like on the floor. I'm hoping he'll become more adventurous soon so I can cut down his bottles.

There's not really much else to update on, well not that I can think of right now. He's such a happy little boy, has never been fussy with his teeth and generally in a good mood.

  1. Oh, he is growing up so quickly! He is such a cute little chappy and his little grin just melts me. He's starting to look so different to Amelia now, but still looks a lot like you. What a heartbreaker! x

  5. Cute boy, I love his eyes.
Just like my cousin, he also throws away unwanted things to the floor, even at someone. But after a short time he has better behaviors. Hope your son shall be more adventurous as you wish.
