Our Perfect Family Holiday #MarkWarnerMum

Earlier this month Harry turned one and I realised we've not taken him abroad yet. Amelia went on her first ever holiday abroad when she turned just six months old and again when she was 18 months and I want Harry to experience the same. I know at this age he won't understand any of it, but to get them used to travelling abroad whilst they're young and teach them different cultures, learn different languages and try different cuisines has always been a dream of mine.

The last holiday we had was back in 2013 to the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean and although it was one of the best holidays I've ever been on I want to see more of the world. There are so many beautiful places on earth to visit and it's quite sad that I'll never visit them all in my lifetime, which is why I'd like to visit as many as possible whilst we can! If you had asked me 5 years ago where my perfect holiday destination would be I would have said somewhere hot where I could sunbathe every day.

Our perfect family holiday today is definitely somewhere hot, preferably the Caribbean, Greece or the Canary Islands but it would have to be kid friendly, have lots of pools, a beach near by and lots of activities. I couldn't imagine going away without the kids so they would definitely have to come too. Maybe when they are older and have left home I can enjoy a child free holiday but to me it wouldn't be a holiday without them.

Childcare and kids clubs would be very useful to us although we wouldn't use them daily, especially now with Harry being older I wouldn't mind so much leaving him for an hour or two to go off and do some water-sports as that's one thing we never got to experience on past holidays with Amelia. I know Amelia would love to try some activities and she's much more confident now since starting school I know she'd be absolutely fine at a kids club.

I always love the feeling when waiting for a holiday to come around, counting down the months, weeks and day until you jet off. Packing your suitcase, shopping for new holiday clothes, and not sleeping the night before because you're far too excited and nervous incase you sleep through your alarm and miss your flight! The thought of going on holiday with those who I love and making memories with, shutting off from every day life such as work and bills and not giving a care in the world for one or two weeks is something what we all dream of.

I'd love to take both of the kids abroad whilst they're still young and make memories, watch both of them laugh, play together and spend quality time together...

I'd love to have photos of both of the kids playing on the beach. I'd love for Harry to experience his first time in the sea and build sandcastles with his big sister...

I'd love to take little walks along the beach with my big girl and Harry on the other side...

Have days chilling at the beach...

and days at the pool...

but most of all I'd like to have our first family holiday all together and make memories that last.

This post is our entry to the Mark Warner Holidays #markwarnermum competition to be an Ambassador for 2016 in the "fab photography" category although we don't stand a chance of winning I loved writing about our perfect holiday! You can read more about the competition here.
