Gift A Student Care Package With Send It Now

As someone who didn't go to uni myself, now that I am a parent I only want the best for my children and giving them the option of going to university if they want to is something I feel really strongly towards. Which is why I have started putting money aside each month for them both into a savings account which will hopefully be enough for when the time comes if they do decide that they want to go to uni, put it towards a car or a deposit on a house.

Moving away from home for the first time can be rather daunting especially if you're moving city and away from friends and family. Not only can it be rather scary for the student but parents can also be missing their children too. As I didn't go to university I can't comment on that but I can relate in some way as I did move away from home to start a new job which was a very exciting yet daunting experience and I would have loved to received some things from family or friends back home to help me settle in.

I have teamed up with Send It Now on their #BacktoUni campaign where we will be brightening someone's day by sending their child or friend a special care package to their new university home. Which is where you come in as you can win this student care package which we're giving away so you can gift it to a family member or friend.

All you need to do to be in with the chance of winning this student box worth £250 is comment below and nominate a friend or family member who is at university to receive the box and why you would like to nominate them. I will then choose a winner and announce it here on the blog. This giveaway will close on October 21st 2015.

The box will be full of goodies to help the student feel more at home and settle in during the first few months. Here is what I would put in a care package for a friend or when my children are in university when they are older.

  • A portable phone charger
  • Gift cards to help out with grocery shopping
  • Little toiletries as you never know when they may come in handy
  • Notebooks and stationary
  • Lots of treats, including chocolate, crisps and fizzy drinks
  • Headphones
  • A nice cosy blanket or slippers
  • A thermal mug like this one always handy for when you wake up late and need to get to class

  45. I'd send this gift to my baby sister (11 years my junior!) who's just starting uni this year. She's the quiet one of the family and I know she'll be missing our mum and brother even though she'd never say so. Getting a care package would make her day and put the rest of us at ease that she was at least taken care of for a little while. It seems like 5 minutes ago that she was born and now she's all grown up and off out into the world on her own.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'd send it to my friend who's just started her Masters as a mature student at 24. I started Uni late myself, and know how isolating it can be sometimes when everyone else seems to be 18 and partying hard. Now, you didn't hear it from me but her partner is pretty useless, doesn't cook, never seen him with a vacuum cleaner, so she fits all that in around the kids and the homework. The kids still come first, always getting a bedtime story even when she is exhausted, but she is passionate about her course and works really hard to achieve good grades and works hard at her placements. this 'care' package would be fabulous for her to enjoy a few treats in recognition of all her efforts, a snuggle on the sofa under a soft blanket, a soak in the bath, defnitly the thermal mug to take a coffee in the morning. Fingers crossed for her
