#SAVESYRIASCHILDREN

Unless you've been living under a rock recently or are completely oblivious to the news you will most probably have seen the harrowing image of a little Syrian boy either on the front of the newspaper or across your Facebook feed. I won't share this image as it really upset me. I don't usually watch the news but when something like this happens I have to, it really struck a chord with me and I want to do as much as I can to help!

My eldest Amelia is three, this could have been her. This could have been my 7 month old little boy.

It could have been your children, your grandchild, your nephew or niece or even you!

There's lots that you can do, from the comfort of your own home. What ever you do, please don't turn a blind eye. We need to act on this now!

To donate please TEXT 'SYRIA' to 70008 (You can also donate online here) T&C here

Do also keep an eye out if anywhere local to you is doing collections, many people are contributing blankets, pillows, old clothes and shoes, as well as food such as rice, tined food and water. I am taking a car full of stuff down to one near me next week who will be getting it sent out to those who need it.

Please take a moment to watch this powerful video and share it! Be warned, you may want to grab a tissue or two!

  2. Thank you for highlighting the plight of a war stricken state and its effect on the vulnerable. We need to help them escape their lives and experience a world where poverty and hatred does not exist. War is destructive and these innocent children should not be used as a weapon, they are human beings too. It makes me so angry that the lives of others must be cut short to feed the governments vengeful hatred for its people.

  4. Thank you for addressing this. The photo you mention is completely heartbreaking. I spent all of Thursday in tears, I was a complete mess. I can't imagine what the father is going through and every single person trying to escape and get to safety. We are very lucky! Something needs to be done and there are many ways we can help, which you've mentioned in the post.

  7. This has broken my heart this week. And my eldest is very upset by it too as the little boy whose picture keeps popping up on our tv screen is only a little older than her brother. We have donated this evening and hope that it helps this cause if only a little X
