FUN AT THE BEACH

After the heatwave at the start of the last week, we were pretty unlucky and only really had one day of sunshine, the rest of the week was full of humid days and downpours. That's good old North Wales for you! I had been checking the forecast all week and Friday seemed to be the nicest day for us which was good because Amelia wouldn't be at her dads or nursery so I'd have both the kids to myself. We decided to have a beach day and drove to one of the dozen beaches close to us, that's what I love about this beautiful country we love in, there's so many beaches to choose from all at the palm of our hand.

It was so nice to actually spend a day at the beach with nice weather, I've taken the kids a couple of times before but it's always been windy or the sun disappears not long after we arrive. We were lucky enough to have the sun beaming down on us the whole time and it even got too hot so we decided to leave mid afternoon as I didn't want Amelia playing in it for too long seeing as we didn't have the beach tent with us.

It was a lovely afternoon and Amelia loved building sandcastles and playing in the sand. Unfortunately the sea was pretty far out so we only popped down once as it was a bit of a trek. My mum came with us and it was nice to spend some time with her and Amelia enjoyed playing with her too. I think that will most likely be the hottest day we'll have this year so I'm glad we managed to get down to the beach to fully enjoy it. I don't remember having a proper beach day like that since two years ago, as last summer was awful.

I can't wait until Harry is that little bit older so they can both play together in the sand and sea, I'm already looking forward to next year and holidays abroad!

Did you manage to make the most of the sun?

  1. Our summer came & went in the space of day here in Scotland! But as we live right by the sea, we're at the beach most days, even if it's in our wellies! Your beach looks so lovely & secluded though. Ours, you're lucky to have a squared metre to yourself as it's completely jam packed in the summer! xo

    1. Oh no that's such a shame Amy! Looks like we haven't been so lucky up north. London seem to have got the best of the weather. Haha, the one we went to is a drive on beach and is pretty spacious it goes on for miles so you're never on anyones toes :) x

  2. That's lovely. We went for walks but it wasn't nice enough for the beach or Matthew was in nursery at the time.

  4. It always amazes me when I see your beach photos. When you have the car ON the beach. You can't do that round here.

  5. Amelia's swimming costume is so cute!
We didn't get out in it much as it was just too hot and humid to do anything, I thought about going for a walk a few days but think it would have killed me off in the heat haha!
We did have a lovely family barbecue on the Saturday which was nice once I finally finished cleaning the house and preparing the food!
Hopefully we will have a few more nice days at least.

  6. Some brilliant pictures here, love her swimming costume. Shame the sea was so far out, it is a bit off putting. Nice you had your mum with you, easier to watch 2 of them safely.
