The weather has been gorgeous this past week and we have been very lucky here in North Wales. It almost felt like it was summer! Sunny days instantly make me happy and as I've been feeling a little bit down lately I was in need of some sunshine to cheer me up. As I'd been wanting to make the most of the weather whilst I can I managed to take the kids out a couple of days as it seemed such a waste the spend the day inside.
The week started off with a trip to the beach with my parents which you can read all about here. On Wednesday we took a walk to a local forest and and took a wander down the cycle path. It was definitely t-shirt weather and it was good to get Amelia out in the fresh air to tire her out. She wanted to take her little backpack with us which she carries everywhere at the moment with random little toys and figures she's collected so it came with us too. It came in handy actually as the Doona pushchair doesn't really take the weight of my changing bag so it meant I could pop her snacks and juice in the bag and she could carry it instead.
Thursday we took a drive down to Criccieth a local seaside town about a half hour drive from us. Daddy will be working there when the new restaurant opens next month so it was good for Amelia to see where he will be working as she loved visiting him at his current workplace. The seafront was swamped with people, families, elderly couples and people walking their dogs. It's seemed like everyone had the same idea as us as it was packed, as was the ice-cream parlour when we arrived. There were many people scattered across the beach too with a few brave people swimming in the sea.
We took a walk to get Amelia an Ice-cream which she made a jolly good mess of and sat down by the seafront watching everybody passing by. Harrison was also awake and very alert smiling at old ladies who would peek into the pushchair to see him. He's sleeping less during the day now which is good so hopefully I can start a bedtime routine with him soon.
Overall we've had a lovely week and managed to get out a few days too! This week has got me really excited for summer... I can't wait to go on many more days out with my two little monkeys, play with them both at the beach and go on many long walks together. Harrison will be 6 months in July so if he's anything like his big sister he will be crawling by then and it will be so much fun! Amelia will be starting nursery two days a week after the Easter holidays so I want to try and do as much as possible with her on the days that she's not in nursery and before she starts full time in September!
Have you been lucky with the weather where you are this week?
