When I joined the Siblings project at the start of the year, I was looking forward to watching Amelia and Harrison's relationship grow over time. Harrison is now 3 months old and this is our fourth month of joining in with this project. I was looking back at the other month's photos and can already see how much their relationship has changed. Amelia has always been very fond of him but she wouldn't get close to him which is understandable as he was so small and fragile she most probably didn't want to hurt him.
These past few weeks she has been more intrigued and asks to carry him(with my help), she is kissing him more and loves to tickle him as she did before. She would never willingly get into a photo with him or lie down next to him but to my amazement the other day whilst I was taking a photo of him she was playing next to him with her peppa pig soft toys and turned to me and said "I lie down too mummy" and so she did. I couldn't believe it so of course had to snap a few photos incase she wouldn't do it again. She started playing with him and making different voices with her peppa toys. In the past she would freak out if I lay Harry down next to her or asked her to lie next to him so I am so happy that she now feels comfortable to do so as I would never want to force her to do anything she wouldn't want to do.
Harry is always watching his big sister and follows her around the room when he's sat in his bouncer. She always manages to get the biggest giggles out of him and I once caught her bouncing his chair and singing to him when I had ran upstairs to grab something. It was so sweet! She had grabbed a cushion and sat down next to him and was talking to him.
Amelia loves 'dancing' with Harry when I stand him up in front of her, she will grab his hands and dance. So much has changed in the space of a few weeks and I can't wait to see what this month holds! I'm sure he will be sitting up soon on his own like Amelia did at that age so I think she will love that! I'm excited for the summer, and can't wait to take them both swimming, to the beach and on many days out together.
