MODERN BLACK AND WHITE KIDS ROOM

I know that Harrison has only just turned 3 months old and isn't even sleeping in his own room yet but I am already looking at ideas for his big boy room when he outgrows his nursery. Since last year I have wanted to use the superhero theme in his room, however didn't think it was really fitting for a nursery so went with a neutral grey star theme instead. For the past few months I have been collecting bits and pieces for his room so when I do decide to update his room it isn't going to cost me a fortune all in one go. I'm a huge fan of the monochrome trend at the moment and the great thing about this trend is that it its calm and relaxing so would be perfect for any child moving up from their nursery to a more grown up space which will last them well into their teens!

I have been browsing the internet for ideas and will continue to browse Instagram for some inspiration over the next year as there's always so many new brands to discover. I probably won't be updating his room until he's in a toddler bed or maybe I'll change it around when he turns one I haven't quite decided yet. But all I do know is that I can't wait to get started on it!

I have already bought a few superhero wall art prints and decor which is currently in a safe place for when I do decide to do up his room. As he has a built in wardrobe in the nursery I won't need to purchase much furniture which is good as I would like to keep the room clutter free. He already has an Ikea cubed unit which will be great for hiding away his toys and extra books. We also have an Eames style chair in Amelia's room which I will move into his room and I think I might buy a little plastic stool to put his nightlight on.

I am currently looking at moving but also debating whether or not to stay here. If we do, then I really want to change Harry's bedroom floor as it's a disgusting grey colour at the moment. I'd love a light cream/beige carpet or a white laminate floor as that would be far easier to clean and a I think a white wooden laminate would go really well with the room interiors.

  1. This monochrome look is so popular at the moment and it's so funky yet bright too - the white stops it being too dark I guess. Love it with a splash of colour like the yellow x

  4. I love all black and white rooms for kids. These are fantastic picks hun. Love them. If I had a third I think I would go towards more of a modern look then the more traditional nurseries I have in the past.
