MY CHANGING BAG ESSENTIALS

What's in my changing bag

I love being nosy and seeing what other mums carry inside their changing bags. I don't know what it is, maybe it's just a mum thing? Please tell me I'm not the only one? Perhaps it's to see if theres something I've been missing out on I'm not entirely sure but what ever it is it is pretty addictive. In fact I think I even started watching "What's in my changing bag" videos on YouTube whilst I was pregnant with Amelia to get an idea on what I would need to purchase.

Today I thought I would share what I keep inside my changing bag now as a mum of two. With a newborn and a toddler I'm seen carrying around double the amount of stuff. I am currently using my beloved Mia Tui changing bag which I actually did a review on last year which you can read all about here. This seems to be my go-to bag as it's big enough to carry everything I need plus it looks like a handbag which I love!

Changing bag essentials for baby

Muslin - Water wipes - 5 nappies for Harrison - Wipe case with pampers wipes

I always seem to pack 5 nappies for some reason "just incase"even though I never need that many. I started off using water wipes with Harrison however now I use what ever I use with Amelia which is usually pampers of Tesco Baby.

Aden + Anais swaddle blanket - Breastpads - Dr browns bottle - Ready to go milk - Spare dummy & clip - Sophie the giraffe teether

I love these Aden + Anais blankets and always have one in the changing bag or over Harrison if we are out and about. They have so many different uses from being used as a play mat, a muslin cloth, blanket. I always have handful of breast pads as you never know when you may need them! I have been mix feeding so when we are out and about or if in public I tend to bottle feed and always bring a spare bottle and ready made carton of milk. I also pack a dummy just incase we need to give him one. He doesn't really like it and won't keep one in his mouth but I like to have one on standby.

Baby vest - Sleep suit - Socks - Dribble Bib

I always pack spare clothes as you never know when you may need them! I'm yet to have a poo explosion with Harrison, maybe I'm just lucky but knowing my luck if I didn't bring a spare change of clothing he would have one!

Here are some of the extra bits I like to carry around with me. I keep them in the clear plastic zip wallet that came with the bag. It's so handy for keeping lotions from ruining the rest of the bag.

I also pack the following items:

Thermometor
Suncream
Gripe water
Hand sanitiser
Lansinoh nipple cream
Hair brush

Now that Amelia is older I don't really need to pack much for her at all. In fact before Harrison was born I would usually only bring a pull up or two, spare trousers and some juice for her. Now that I bring the changing bag with me I also have her hat, and some snacked packed too.

I also usually pack my phone, keys and purse and that's about it for myself as I travel lightly these days! I'm sure once Harrison gets older I'll be lugging around more toys and bits to keep him entertained as well as snacks when he's weaning.

What are your changing bag essentials? Do you have anything extra you keep in yours?

  1. I love those Aden + Anais muslins and have the same ones for my baby as well as the water wipes. A spare change of clothes is a must, which I found out very early on.

  2. Great post.
At the minute I still carry around a changing mat, but just a small one from one of my smaller Pink Lining bags and I also carry Anbesol as my 9 month old daughter is teething.

  5. Phew you have a lot in your changing bag. I don't take anything near that with me.
All I have in it is wipes, nappies, bottle with water in it, powder container, infacol. Thats it. And keys and phone of course.
