Do you ever wonder about the things you couldn't live without on a day to day basis? Everyone has a different list of essentials, if you asked 5 people you would get a variety of answers ranging from a glass of wine in the evening to a Starbucks coffee on the way to work. These aren't essentially necessary but they are nice to have in our lives and help you through every day life.
Apart from the necessary essentials like food, a roof over my head and my family here are 5 things I can't live without:
The first thing I do when I wake up every morning is check my phone, reply to emails, scroll through Instagram and Facebook numerous times a day. I also use my phone every single day for taking photos, and chatting to friends, it's basically my lifeline and definitely an essential for any blogger. What did we ever do before smart phones hey?
The second is probably my laptop, if I'm not sleeping, or looking after the kids I'm on my laptop. As soon as the kids are asleep, I'm on the laptop. Whether that be blogging, on Facebook, editing photos or online shopping I definitely couldn't live without the internet and my laptop.
Another essential for me would have to be Dr Pepper. Not a day goes by where I don't indulge in a cold can of Dr Pepper out of the fridge. Although I did take part in a spending ban not long ago and actually managed a week without having any as much as it was complete utter torture for me so I don't think I could give it up completely even if I have cut down slightly which I am proud about.
Chinese takeaway is a downfall of mine. I could easily eat it every day of the week and not get sick of it. Even though I usually only have it once or twice a week these days there have been many weeks where I would eat around 4-5 takeouts! This is definitely an expensive habit and one which I am glad I've cut down on. I just don't think I could stop having my weekly takeaways!
Lastly I don't think I could live without my Yankee Candles. I have one in every room and love burning them every day. I probably have around 30 and thats not including all of the smaller ones. There are just so many scents it can easily become an addictive obsession to have.
British Gas have created a video titled "What five things couldn't you live without?" which you can watch below to get people thinking about the things they couldn't live without in their lives and how much the real essentials like energy in the home cost in relation to those everyday essentials. As we can't live without our energy in the home the video really does make you think about your energy costs and how much you waste on those everyday luxury essentials. I was surprised to learn that for a three bedroomed house our daily amount of energy used is roughly £3.32 as I thought it would have been far more.
