There's nothing like a bit of baby news to brighten up your day. Especially a pregnancy announcement and there are so many creative ways to announce an impending arrival. When I was pregnant with Amelia I announced my pregnancy with friends and family via Facebook with a scan photo from my 18 week scan, it was nothing special or very thought out - just the scan photo and a sentence mentioning that we were expecting our first baby.
This time round when I found out we were expecting I really wanted to document my pregnancy with Harrison on the blog so I could look back on it when ever I wished as I hadn't really documented it with Amelia due to only starting this blog a couple of days before her due date. I announced our exciting news with the above photo of Amelia sharing that she was soon going to become a big sister! I really wanted to include Amelia in the announcement in some way and I'm glad she co-operated!
We then also shared our gender announcement a couple of weeks later when we found out we were in fact having a baby boy! I love the fact that I have my whole pregnancy to look back on from our announcement to Harrison's birth story so I can watch my bump grow each week. I do love a good pregnancy announcement, and have seen some fantastic ones recently including this sweet announcement from Little Baby Garvin on the news of her third baby. I think it's become the norm to share pregnancy news via social media nowadays especially as everyone's using it as a way to communicate and stay updated with friends and family.
Once you've announced your pregnancy to the world and received masses of "congratulations" messages you will most probably want to start shopping for that little baby growing inside your belly. I love shopping for newborn clothes, there's just something so exciting about teeny weeny baby grows and hats. I've always loved shopping online especially for the convenience and most recently found out that M&S have a new dedicated baby section on their website aimed for newborns up to 24 months. It's easy to navigate around and is built around seven key moments; Welcome, Clothe, Bathe, Sleep, Feed, Play and Maternity. I have always loved M&S for baby clothes and now find myself browsing the new categories at nursery accessories and baby products for Harrison.
How did you announce your pregnancy? Or did you decide not to share via social media?
