41 WEEK PREGNANCY UPDATE BABY #2

Yep, you've guessed it...still pregnant. I bet you didn't expect to be seeing an update from me this week but here we are at 41 weeks and still pregnant! As much as we can't wait for him to make an appearance, I'm also glad to know that he is still putting on weight and developing as each day goes by.

My 40 week midwife appointment on Tuesday went well, we discussed my iron levels as they are really low so I've been prescribed more iron tablets even though they never seem to do anything. Baby boy is fully engaged and ready to go according to the midwife and she said she couldn't move his head as it was so low. My bump is finally catching up and she was surprised at how much bigger it was, especially as I've been measuring around 4 weeks behind my whole pregnancy. I guess my babies just like to grow a lot the last few weeks. My next appointment is tomorrow and I think we'll be discussing induction as it doesn't look like he wants to come on his own. I really do hope we get a date soon!

This week I've been experiencing many more Braxton hicks although these seem to be much stronger and do take my breath away on each occasion. I've also been getting shooting pains down my hips again but it's bearable. I'm generally feeling pretty good for being 41 weeks pregnant, although this past week or so I've been feeling a lot weaker and faint which is probably down to my lack of iron. I've had a few dizzy spells where I've not been able to see for a few hours and had to lie down until it subsides. I also can't see my phone or the TV when it happens and it tends to be in the evening or when it's just getting dark. I also had numbness in my hands on a few occasions along with headaches.

There's not a lot else to update you on really, we're just waiting for baby boy to make an appearance! It would be nice if he did decide to come on his own but I really do think it will end up being another induction which I'm okay with.

Hurry up baby boy we are waiting!

  1. Fingers tightly crossed you are able to avoid induction and that the little dude pops his head out sooner rather than later. You never know, by this time tomorrow he could be in your arms! x

  3. I'm with you on the iron level. Mines low too and I keep forgetting to take my tablets. (Oops) hubby always gives out to me.
Eating high fibre food isn't easy either. Normally don't cook that stuff.
How far can you go over in the UK? Is it 10 days too?

    1. Haha I always forgot to take them last pregnancy, not been too bad this time round but they just dont do anything! I know what you mean, I don't really eat much food with fibre as it is. It's around 12 days here although there wasn't space for me last time with Amelia so she was born at 14 days over :/ x

  7. You seem so relaxed about being overdue i was so fed up when i went overdue for a second time i was a nightmare. Second inductions are so much quicker then first, i had my second induction in august and i was only in labour for 40 minutes from getting my first pain to him being born and avoided the drip i had to have first time around. Good luck and i hope everything goes well for you and you get to meet your baby boy soon and become a little family of four xx
