It's my DUE DATE! How on earth did that happen? I know I say this all the time but this pregnancy has literally flown by! These final weeks haven't even dragged as they did with my first pregnancy. This week baby boy is the size of a small pumpkin and weighs roughly 7.5lb. It will be interesting to see how much he weighs when he's born seeing as Amelia was 9lb 13.5 and they predicted that she would be a 10 pounder! I really don't think he'll be as big as she was but I did go two weeks over with her. Although there was a full moon this morning so that may send me into labour some point today, however I highly doubt it! Wishful thinking hey?
This week I've been having a lot of twinges, sharp pains, stronger Braxton hicks, pressure down below and also some shooting pains in my thighs and lower back. So I'm not sure if that's going to lead up to something, I guess we can only wait and see! It would be nice to experience going into labour naturally instead of being induced and I'd rather he arrived sooner than later!
At 40 weeks the same size 6 pair of jeans that I have been taking these weekly pregnancy photos with will no longer close without having to breathe in! I think I've done pretty well to wear them this long but they really aren't comfortable anymore so I've resorted to my jeggings instead. I'm glad I haven't wasted any money on maternity clothing.
I've been getting a lot of dizzy spells where I see squiggly black things, as well as tingly hands and headaches these past couple of days which I think is either down to my low iron levels or low blood pressure. I have a midwife appointment tomorrow so I will ask her about it then. My weight at 40 weeks pregnant is 9 stone exactly! Which is crazy as that's the most I've ever weighed! I wasn't even this much when pregnant with Amelia. This means I've put on a whopping total of 19lbs this pregnancy which I believe is pretty average. I should hopefully loose it pretty much straight away again after giving birth which is good! Still no stretch marks and I don't have the linea nigra this time round. Overall this pregnancy has been pretty plain sailing compared to Amelia's which I am thankful for!
I had a food shop delivery arrive this morning and I ordered a ton of extra bits so I can make up a batch of meals ready in the freezer so when he is he I can just throw everything in the slow cooker each morning or into the microwave to make life that little bit easier. The Christmas decorations are back in the attic and I've been trying to get the house a little bit tidier before he arrives.
So now I guess it's a waiting game! I wonder when he'll decide to make an appearance.
Thanks for following along on this journey! We may be back next week for a 41 week update... who knows?
