Last night whilst flicking through the TV channels after watching the soaps Andy and myself found ourselves watching Barley Legal Drivers on BBC 3 which is a series in which a number of young drivers take to the road in the family car, unaware that their parents are watching every manoeuvre to see how their driving skills weigh up. After precisely 5 minutes of watching it we were soon discussing each others bad driving habits and how neither of us can stand to be in the car whilst the other person is behind the wheel.
Ever since I passed my driving test back in 2009 I've always thought that I was a pretty decent driver, that was until Andy passed his test a couple of years ago and I don't drive the car as much anymore as we decided to go down to just the one car. I only drive a handful of time a week and that's to work and back.
I do consider myself a safe driver, I rarely speed, I don't text whilst driving and I most certainly don't drink and drive. Since becoming a parent I think I've actually become a safer driver, as back in the day I do admit to doing those things. These days I think I just don't concentrate as much as I should which I put down to a lack of sleep and tiredness.
Perhaps I could benefit from More Than's Smart Wheels Insurance who install a little contraption into your car similar to a mini black box if you like, which records how safe you drive before calculating your More Than telematic driving style score which then helps you save your money! The safer your drive, the more you save. It's that simple!
Would you consider yourself a good or bad driver?
