REVIEW | TRAVEL IN STYLE WITH THE BRITAX TRIFIX BLACK EDITION

We've been huge fans of Britax ever since we bought Amelia's first group 1 car seat back when she turned 11 months old. There was no doubt about it that we would choose Britax as I had heard so many great things about the brand and I love their style. You could say that I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to car seats, I don't do cheap and I most certainly don't do flimsy. We were recently asked whether we would like to test out the new Britax TRIFIX Black Limited Edition with Amelia and with just 500 of these car seats in existence and only 100 available to purchase in the UK we jumped at the chance to try out this exclusive luxury product.

The TRIFIX is the ultimate car seat for style conscious parents who don't wish to compromise on safety. The group 1 car seat is suitable from 9 months and can be used until your child is roughly 4 years old (9-18kg) keeping your child both safe and comfortable on the road as they grow. Designed by Julia Strunk who is Britax's European Head of Styling, she wanted to create a seat which stood out from the crowd and this most certainly does. The TRIFIX Black Edition is handmade in Germany and is made of high quality materials, fabric and stitching ensuring a safe and luxurious car seat for transporting your little ones from A to B.

I'm not particularly a huge fan of colour, especially bright patterns and always opt for black or neutral colours when it comes down to baby products. Black is a timeless classic colour and will never go out of fashion meaning we will get many years of good use out of it with baby boy after Amelia grows out of it. In my opinion black looks great in any car and the TRIFIX Black edition screams luxury to me. With its soft black leather and beautifully finished stitching the fabrics of the car seat are definitely a firm favourite of mine.

For me the high gloss carbon effect side panelling, quilted padded seat lining along with wide straps on the five point harness which sit over your child's chest for comfort definitely give it a luxurious feeling and says style all over. The padding is super soft and feels incredibly luxurious to touch, no wonder Amelia never wants to get out of the car seat when we stop.

The car seat is installed with an ISOFIX and top tether which anchors the car seat firmly to the seat of your car. I haven't installed it myself as I left that down to Andy as I'm useless with things like that but he did say it was pretty easy to do so. I've never used a car seat with this type of installation before so it did take a bit of getting used to but I have definitely noticed that by using the top tether it reduces the swaying movement that you get from the car seat when the car is moving ensuring extra safety is provided in the event of an accident. I was extremely happy to see that there is less movement and the TRIFIX is firmly secured to the seat which puts me at ease knowing that Amelia is travelling safely along with comfort and style.

Personally I feel that the TRIFIX is aimed at parents who are willing to pay more for a luxury car seat with great attention to detail and design which suits their car with the added security of comfort and safety for their child. After putting the TRIFIX to the test for the last month we have become very attached to it! Amelia loves climbing in it when we go out and always looks very comfortable sat in it. It's a huge thumbs up from us!

The Britax TRIFIX Black Edition is available to purchase from a selected number of retailers here for £899 which I know many will think is an obscured amount of money to pay for a car seat but it purely is a luxury car seat and with only 100 available in the UK you will be one of the selected few to own one.

* We were sent a Britax TRIFIX car seat for the purpose of this review. All opinions are 100% honest and our own.

  1. That does look like a great car seat - it is expensive though but as you say it is a luxury product rather than a standard one. Amelia looks comfortable in it and it sounds very safe. I love ISOfix - with the car seats we have had, they do feel more secure when they are fixed that way than when we just use the standard fittings alone.#triedtested

  3. It really does look like a very luxurious seat. I'm in the market for a new seat for Amy now as she's out growing her first stage car seat. I'm really stuck as to what to buy next.
Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested this week and I hope you have a lovely Christmas!

    1. How old is baby? :)
I would advice to keep her rear facing as long as possible. :)
Have a look at www.rearfacing.co.uk for facts on why! :D

  4. I love Britax car seats and use them with my baby and toddler and always have done as I think they are the best ones. I am a bit if snob too and won't buy a cheap one and love black ones as I think they look nicer. This one is fab it looks great and Amelia looks super comfy in it , but I couldn't believe the price but I guess people with a nice car and spare cash would pay it as it is limited edition x #TriedTested

  5. She looks adorable. :)
Just remember that in forward facing, the harness straps need to come from directly *at* or just *above* her shoulders. Never below. :)

I would have loved this seat, it does look really nice, but sadly it's not rear facing. :)
