What I love the most about being pregnant at this time of the year, well apart from being able to eat a much as I like without worrying about piling on the extra pounds is the fact that I am on maternity leave over Christmas! I actually started my maternity leave a couple of weeks earlier than originally planned so we have been able to enjoy the festive period together before the new arrival!
This weekend we went to a local Christmas Fayre that my workplace organised for the village. It was a lovely day despite the weather and there was a lot of festive activities going on. Thee was also a special appearance from Queen Elsa who was in fact one of the members of staff who regularly dresses up as Elsa for kids parties. Amelia loved seeing her even though she was a bit shy to begin with, she wouldn't stop going on about Frozen all afternoon then. We also popped into the restaurant for a spot of lunch with my parents and a friend of ours. Overall it was a lovely day and it was great to do something before Christmas especially as I've never gone to events in the run up to Christmas due to always working!
Last week Amelia's playgroup held a Christmas party on the day that she usually goes with my mum. Seeing as I had started my maternity leave that day I went along with them to join in the fun. It's not often that I get to go to the playgroup with her so it was nice to see her interact with all the other children. There was lots of food, Christmas crafts and we even saw Santa! As soon as she saw him she shouted 'Santi' and kept on on saying 'Ho Ho Ho' over and over again. When it came to her name being called out and having to go over to collect her present she went all shy and refused to go over. She did eventually go over with me but wouldn't sit on his lap and hid her face when we tried taking a photo ha ha! She did say thank you and kept waving bye when he left though so I guess she wasn't really that shy. At least she didn't cry I suppose. We are hoping to take her to see him again on Christmas eve at a local garden centre so I think she'll enjoy seeing him then.
I've also enjoyed being able to relax in the week up to Christmas, usually I'm working every day and frantically trying to cram in Christmas shopping and wrapping gifts however this year that's all done thanks to PayPal and I didn't even leave the house to do it! Meaning I've been able to spend quality time doing things that I love with my family.
P.S There's still time to share your own moments to be in with the chance of winning a PS4 over on their Facebook Page.
