One of things I love the most about Amelia growing is being able to do various activities with her, from baking to crafts there's so much to do! Especially in the run up to Christmas the options are endless. This week we decided to do some festive baking and were sent a Make Your Own Kit from Honeywell Bakes to create some gorgeous penguin and snowman biscuits. The kit would make a lovely gift for anyone of any age especially if they like to bake.
The biscuits were really easy to make and Amelia even helped me make up the mixture. For some reason they melted a bit in the oven but we managed to cut the shapes again using the cutters. The next stage was to roll the icing and create the little biscuits. I didn't do the best job at this but Amelia was helping so bits of icing kept on disappearing! Once done we popped a few of them into gift bags for family and ate the rest! I think she really enjoyed baking these as all afternoon she was then asking to cook ha ha!
We also decorated some gingerbread men, she even named one of them daddy and was pretty impressed with herself. She also ate most of the candies which is why there's not many on the gingerbread men themselves. I will definitely have to do some more baking and decorating in the kitchen with her as it seems that she really enjoys it.
What festive treats have you been baking this year?
