As a first time mum with Amelia, aside from the basics I had no idea what baby products I would need and more importantly what she would actually like so I held off buying the majority of things until she was here. Babies like to be held, but the bottom line is we can't hold them 24/7! We need to put them down at some point, to pee, shower, cook or check Instagram and Facebook (You know it's true!). We used the Graco Hug swing with Amelia and as much as we loved it and it was an absolute life saver it was pretty big and bulky! It also broke when we were moving so we no longer have it and it's pink!
With baby boy due in less than a month I have been looking at bouncers and swings yet again. I know he won't need one right away but I like to be prepared and have everything ready for his arrival. I want something neutral yet modern, I'm not a fan of bright colours or themes so will definitely be purchasing something neutral to keep in tone with the decor of our home.
Graco Duet Bouncer £59.99
With two position recline for your baby's comfort, the calming rocker transforms by flipping down the Rock Locks, into a stationary, two speed, vibrating seat for two ways to soothe your little one. This portable Graco Duet Rocker offers a compact, folding and lightweight design, which you can easily take with you in the handy tote bag which is included.
In addition to the three positions for play, lounging and sleeping, the fabric and harness on this bouncer are reversible, so you can mix and match colour schemes. It's pediatrician-recommended, comes with anti-glide strips to keep baby safe and secure and folds up easily for on-the-go travel. What more could you ask for? I love this bouncer and it's definitely neutral and modern just like I'm looking for yet at a fraction of the price of some of the more expensive ones.
Designed to fold completely flat and slip into a reversible carry bag, the lightweight Coco Go is perfect for traveling everywhere from grandma’s house to the Grand Canyon! Wherever you go, this 3-in-1 lounger, rocker and stationary seat will entertain baby, and its sleek shape and neutral colour make it a welcome guest. I would love this bouncer, it's definitely right up my street, would fit in well with our decor. The only thing I am unsure about is it getting too dirty over time especially the wood.
Stokke Steps Bouncer £149
This fantastic bouncer from Stokke keeps your little one safe and secure from birth. It's ergonomic design and unique cradling motion ensures that your baby is lying or sitting in the utmost comfort. Use with the stand as a floor bouncer or attach easily to the Stokke Steps chair to keep your baby at eye level, where they can happily interact with the rest of the family!
This large, padded bouncer is like a luxury infant barcalounger. And with a newborn insert that accommodates those under four months old, even the littlest can get in on the soothing action. Use it on the floor or mount it on to the Stokke Steps Chair and it turns into a plush spot for mealtime.
The 4moms RockaRoo is yet to be released in the UK however America seems to love it. It acts much in the same way that a rocking horse motion would give and will gentle settle any child to sleep. The 4moms RockaRoo infant seat flips the traditional swing on its head literally with the pivot at the base. With 5 speeds to suit every child, the beautifully patterned and plush material is great for a newborn (with the use of the Newborn Plush Liner). It even has the ability to plug in an MP3 Player for your child or you to listen to your favourite songs. At 70 percent smaller than a typical swing, it also is significantly less clutter. I love the look of this just a shame it's not available here yet!
The BabaBing RockOut Baby Rocker is designed to soothe and calm your baby with a gentle rocking motion. The plectrum lever gives 3 easily adjustable positions for kicking back and chilling out, feeding or quickly collapsing for transportation or storage. It has a 5 point safety harness and 3 possible recline positions. With stability legs to keep it still if your baby’s not feeling ready to rock – which is also ideal for feeding. Machine washable and ‘wipeable’, this nifty little rocker will set your newborn straight off to sleep and keep them comfy up until 9kgs.
Bloom Coco Go Rocker £140
This lightweight lounger has a unique 3-in-1 design so it can also be also used as a rocker and bouncer, making it ideal for playtime and naptime. With 3 reclining positions it's suitable from birth and there's a concealed vibration unit to help little ones drift off to sleep. The unique fold-flat design and carry bag make it ideal for travelling as it can be stored neatly and compactly.
Designed by French designers Erick Demeyer and Steven Leprize, this gorgeous Levo Baby Rocker Chair perfectly combines style, practicality, comfort and safety. With a natural rocking motion that gently follows the movement of your baby, your little one can sit or sleep peacefully while you continue your day. Simple to assemble, easy to wash and beautifully crafted from sustainable beech ply to fit with any interior. I love the fabric used for these rockers and the fact that they look modern.
Nuna Leaf Curv £170
There's no cords, no plugs and no need for batteries; just bounce the Leaf once and, like magic, baby will keep moving, unassisted, in a peaceful, noise-free motion. It’s an investment that grows as baby does; it can switch to child seat mode, holding up to 130 pounds. The only thing I'm not too sure about with this rocker is the fact that it doesn't sway for a long period of time and you have to return to sway it.
Graco Lovin Hug Swing £64.95
This is the same swing we had for Amelia when she was younger but in the sweetheart design. It was a lovely swing and served us well. The only thing I wasn't too keen on was the size, it did take up a lot of room. However it was the only thing that Amelia would sleep in so it may be a good purchase for baby boy.
Graco Snuggle £99.99
Soothe and comfort your baby with the Graco Snuggle Swing. With four seating positions and six swing speeds, you can choose the option that best suits your baby. This swing includes a deep plush seat, and two-position recline for baby's comfort. Meanwhile, the overhead toy bar and 15 songs and sounds will help keep baby amused. The Graco Snuggle Swing offers a choice of four seating positions and two recline positions to suit your baby's needs.
I love them all but think I'm getting drawn towards the Baby Bjorn Babysitter for a bouncer and the Graco Snuggle or the 4moms Rockaroo (when it's available in the UK) as a swing/rocker.
What bouncers or swings did you have for your little one?
