Holy moly we've made it to 38 weeks! Seriously where have these past 9 months gone? This week baby boy is the size of a leek and weighs around 6 and a half pounds. There's not a lot to update on this week as my midwife appointment isn't until tomorrow afternoon so I'm not sure where he's at but I've been having a lot of shooting pains down my right leg which I think is just baby pushing down on a nerve. Other than that no change in symptoms.
I'm finally able to eat a lot more seeing as he's dropped, which is nice. I don't feel full after eating a few mouthful and can even nearly finish my plate full of food for once. I'm still getting bad heartburn at night but it's no where near as bad as when I had it with Amelia so I can't really complain. I do get braxton hicks pretty much constantly all night every night which seem to be getting more regular.
Sleep is actually pretty good, I get around 6 hours a night which I know isn't enough but it's better than nothing. I really do wish I could nap during the day but since Amelia dropped her nap when she was about 18 months that isn't possible! I do tend to find myself falling asleep mid afternoon whilst sat on the sofa especially if I'm on the laptop and I get woken up by Amelia hitting me across the face with some toy of hers.
Weirdly enough, still no food cravings this pregnancy however I am now starting to become obsessed with ice and ice lollies again which I haven't really been obsessing over this pregnancy at all. Last pregnancy I went though endless cups of ice every day! No stretch marks yet and I'm still in normal clothing although it's getting very hard to do up the button on one of my pairs of jeans so it may have to be leggings for the next few weeks.
The nursery is now complete minus a few personalised accessories which I will add in once we know his name and my hospital bags and car seat are all ready and waiting. I still have a list of things I need/want to do before he arrives so I'm hoping I can tick those off my list. I'm looking forward to enjoying the Christmas period now and spending as much time with Amelia as possible to make it a special Christmas for her.
I'll be back next week for my 39 week update or you never know we may have had an extra special Christmas present this year. In the meantime you can read back on my previous updates here.
