35 WEEK PREGNANCY UPDATE BABY #2

35 weeks down just 5 more to go! Where has this pregnancy gone? I know I say it all the time but it honestly feels like its flown by! This week baby boy is the size of a coconut weighing roughly 5.25 pound and is around 18inches long. At this point all of his major organs should be nearly complete and his kidneys and liver are fully developed and functional, if he was to be born this early he would have a very high chance of survival.

There's not a lot to update on this week, Andy and I have both had the week off work so that's been nice to relax and not be on my feet the whole day. I am still getting the odd pain here and there if I am moving stuff or carrying heavier stuff about the house and need to remember not to carry Amelia as much as I tend to get a sharp pain then too. I'm back to work today so not looking forward to that after being off all week, and seeing as I'm bigger now my work clothes are looking rather silly on me!

I'm still to paint the nursery, I will get round to it this week or next haha! I need it done before Christmas just incase he decides to come early even though he won't be going in his room for a while I just want to know that its all ready, same with the Christmas decorations - we will be putting these up this week too just so we can be ready and not have to worry about anything for the rest of the month.

I'm looking forward to starting my maternity leave soon and having a few weeks to hopefully relax before he arrives. Originally I had wanted to work for as long as possible but now I'm actually wishing I had gone earlier. It just dawned on me today that these next 5 weeks or so will fly by and they are the last 5 weeks that Amelia will be an only child for and have all of my attention for. I hope she adjusts to the change well when baby boy arrives and doesn't get too jealous. Of course I will need to put her needs into consideration too and will definitely be spending a lot of one on one time with her especially with being off work.

Still no stretch marks which I am pleased about, I feel like none of my clothes fit or look flattering anymore I just look frumpy and kind of wish I had bought some maternity clothing which would hold the bump well. I don't see the point in buying any now just like last time so I guess it will just be oversized jumpers and leggings from now on although I am still fitting in my jeans which I am surprised about!

  2. So exciting! And I know exactly what you mean about the clothes - I am at that stage too! I did buy a few maternity tops but not enough to keep me going permanently and I am starting to look a bit funny in normal clothes! Goodness knows what I will wear on Christmas Day!
