Happy New Years Eve! I love this time of the year, time to de-clutter and organise the house (and mind) ready for a fresh new year. I still can't believe how fast this year has flown by! It only feels like yesterday that I sat down to write this post reflecting on 2013 as a whole and now we're nearing 2015! So much has happened this year, the obvious would be the little human growing inside my belly but there has also been many other happy moments too such as watching Amelia grow into the little girl that she now is, the number of family holidays we had at the start of the year and then our last Christmas as a family of three!
Anyway, enough of the chit chat! Lets take a look at some of our best and worst moments of 2014.
The year started off with me making some new year resolutions like I usually do every year, some which I have managed to achieve and others which are yet to even be thought about. January usually seems to be the month where I start off by planning lots of exciting stuff and getting the house in order.
February saw us having a miscarriage. This was a tough month for us, physically and emotionally but we pulled through and fast forward a couple of months and we got our rainbow baby!
At the end of March we were lucky enough to stay in a gorgeous holiday apartment thanks to our wonderful boss who kindly invited us to get away for a few days. It was nice to spend time together after what had happened the previous month. Despite the weather being atrocious we enjoyed a few days relaxing, splashing in puddles, playing board games and stuffing our faces in front of the fire.
April is the month that Amelia turned two! She had a lovely birthday and we enjoyed celebrating it with her. We had a small get together at home and then the next day took her to the zoo. It also happened to be my 2 year blogiversary! I'm so glad that I decided to start blogging in those days leading up to Amelia's due date.
In May we were off on holiday to France and stayed at Eurocamp which was lovely. We spent a day at Disneyland which was great fun and Amelia loved it! I can't wait to take her again even now at this age as she would love it even more than when we went back in May as she knows so many more of the Disney characters and now enjoys going on rides.
June was a busy month for us. We were lucky enough to go on another family holiday at the beginning of the month, not long after arriving back from France. We went to Bluestone in Pembrokeshire, Wales and also had the opportunity to meet some blogging friends. At the end of June I went to Brit Mums Live for the second year in a row, this year I stayed at the Montcalm which was amazing! I met so many lovely bloggers and it was also a good opportunity to catch up with some old friends too!
Amelia had been keeping a secret and we had some exciting news to share at the end of the month. That's right, Amelia was going to be a big sister!
July was a pretty quiet month for us however we did find out that baby number two is a boy! I also started my weekly pregnancy updates at the beginning of the month when I turned 12 weeks pregnant and I can't believe we're nearly at the end!
Our breastfeeding journey ended in August not long before Amelia turned 28 months old and I'm so happy that we made it that far! It had been such an amazing experience and I'm looking forward to doing it all over again...maybe just not as long time time!
September was fairly good to us weather wise which meant we were able to get out and able and make up for the not so great summer we missed out on! We took a few trips to the beach and lake and spent time out in the fresh air. Amelia also went on a canoe for the first time!
On October the 3rd it was our 4 year anniversary and we went out for a lovely meal, we rarely get the chance to go out so it was nice to do so with just the two of us. Halloween was so much fun with Amelia being older this year and we enjoyed lots of baking and activities in the run up to the day.
November we look Amelia to her first ever firework display which surprisingly she actually really enjoyed! I'm glad that we decided to wait until this age as she appreciated it so much more and wasn't afraid of the noise. We also spent the month preparing for Christmas and making Christmas Eve boxes and eating out as much as possible.
December is by far one of my favourite months of the year. I love the excitement leading up to the special day and it was the best Christmas day I've had so far. This year we took Amelia to see Santa and we also saw Queen Elsa.
I can't wait to see what 2015 brings us as we start it becoming a family of 4!
Happy New Year everyone!
