If you’re a busy mum who works from home or has their hands full with young kids who are at home all day, then any methods that can save you time are welcome ones. Of course, we can do so many things online these days that, in theory at least, life should be a lot easier to manage. It may not always feel that way, though.
Here are just a few examples where the internet can really help you save time on the day-to-day.
Grocery shop online
Online shopping can save you time, stress and hassle. Most of us buy the same things every week when we do the grocery shop, no matter how much we like to think we don’t. Although the first couple of online grocery shops are time-consuming – as you search for the items you usually pick up – you can then save your favourite items, or simply edit the last shop you made. An added benefit is your toddler won’t need to have a melt-down in the trolley!
Buy your lottery ticket
When you’re running round taking the kids to school, nursery and extra-curricular classes, and squeezing a bit of work into the day as well, it’s not easy to keep hold of a little piece of paper that may hold the key to financial freedom. It’s far more sensible to buy your lotto tickets online; then you can never lose them. Not only can you buy lottery tickets online for lotteries in a range of different countries, you can also check on all past lottery draws online at any time to see if you’ve won and can afford to put your feet up.
Face to face meetings
If you work as a freelancer and want to save time, then don’t go out to meetings. An hour’s meeting in town will take you not only the hour during the meeting, but also the travel time either side to get there and back. That’s a waste of time that you use to get some more work done, and you also have to factor in the travel costs. Obviously you’re going to have to have the occasional meeting in person, but most professionals are now comfortable with the idea of skype or similar web meetings. Skype meetings are ideal for a busy mum who wants to keep her business going, but also be able to get to the school gates for 3.15 to meet the kids.
Streamlining the amount of time you spend on tasks by maximising your use of the internet is a smart move, and it’ll make life run more smoothly.
