One gadget that we have always wanted in the kitchen is a nice coffee machine but we've just never found the right one for us. We are limited on work top space as our kitchen counters are full of appliances and the majority of the coffee machines we came across were far too big. Not being a coffee drinker myself I needed a machine that also used hot chocolate capsules rather than just coffee. We were recently given the opportunity to test out the Tassimo Vivy machine and couldn't wait for it to arrive. We've had it for a good couple of weeks now and have been enjoying using it virtually every day!
When it arrived I was a little dubious as to where we would actually put it but being 'the compact one' it is the smallest of the Tassimo machines and takes up no space at all at just 17cm wide! It's currently sat next to our microwave and fits neatly in the corner along side the pod holder which I bought on Amazon.
Using the machine couldn't be easier, simply ensure that there is water in the filter compartment, insert a disc of choice and close the lid. Then press the button and wait for it to do it's magic. The discs have an Intellibrew chip which tells the machine what drink is being made, affecting the temperature, brewing time and the amount of water that comes out of it. I love that the machine doesn't need to be left on all the time, it heats up within seconds as soon as you turn it on which is great for keeping the electricity costs down and if you're in a rush in the morning. Another great feature of this neat little machine is that it has an automatic cleaning and descaling program so it will always be ready for your next drink!
The drip tray can be placed at two different positions which is great for different sized mugs and glasses. I tend to leave it on the bottom level as it's the perfect size for my little glasses. But if you were using expresso cups then the higher level would be perfect!
There are so many different brands with many different flavours of drinks to try out, so far our favourites have been Cadbury and Oreo hot chocolate and the Costa Latte which everyone has been drinking when they come over. It can be quite expensive purchasing all of the discs however it is nice as a treat and not for every hot drink especially as the other half drinks about 10 hot drinks a day!
The Vivy is great for everyday use especially if you are limited on space like us. I would highly recommend this coffee machine to anyone who is looking for a neat little machine with great features. At just £99 this machine is definitely a great investment and is available in white or black to fit in with your kitchen decor.
You can purchase the Tassimo Vivy machine from the Official Tassimo website or from many big retailers such as Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, Tesco and Curry's.

* We were sent a Tassimo Vivy Machine and some discs for the purpose of the review. We purchased the pod holder, glasses and more discs ourselves.
