If you are a regular reader of the blog you may have noticed that we love wooden toys! The majority of Amelia's toys are wooden and when we go to playgroup she always favours the wooden toys out of everything else. We recently became testers for Kids Play Kit and were sent the Cherry Cake Kitchen for Amelia to test out and review.
Kids Play Kit are an online retailer who offer a huge range of handpicked wooden toys from award winning UK designers and manufacturers. Their mission is to look for unique items that combine traditional materials and values with contemporary designs to create fun, organised and most importantly happy homes! From a range of play kitchens to shops, bedroom furniture to tables & chairs and even outdoor toys there is plenty of choice!
The Cherry Cake Kitchen is the ideal wooden kitchen for any little baker, it's built to last and includes a vast amount of features. Amelia has recently started to enjoy watching me cook in the kitchen and help out from time to time so I knew this would be a hit with her from the moment I saw it. It was pretty easy to put together and took Andy no time at all once I finally convinced him to build it! Amelia did manage to pull the door off it's hinges within the first half hour of playing with it but I think she was being too forceful with it by dragging it across the living room. It's not come off since we put it back on and she's also learnt not to lean on it the wrong way.
I love the contemporary French design of this kitchen and it fits perfectly in with her girly bedroom decor as well as the rest of the decor in the house. It has a heart cut-out on the lower door and bespoke detailing on the legs and base which makes the kitchen look more expensive and well made. The kitchen doesn't take up much room at all and when downstairs doesn't get in the way which is great! It has two handles on either side which makes tiding up easier at the end of the day as it's easy to pick up and move to the other side of the room for the night.
The kitchen has kept Amelia engaged for hours on end and she loves playing with it. It comes with a sink and tap with hot and cold knobs which rotate, 2 hobs, 4 rotating dials for realistic settings along with 3 shelves and 2 doors and even a window just like a real oven.
I'm very impressed with this innovative wooden kitchen and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a wooden play kitchen for their little ones. It would also make a lovely birthday or Christmas gift and is recommend from the age of 3 although it's pretty small in size so it would also be suitable for two year olds under supervision. I can definitely see it lasting Amelia a good few more years and then it can be passed on down in the family.
You can find out more about this kitchen here and also check out the rest of the website for more play kitchens and wooden toys. The Cherry Cake Kitchen is available to purchase for £70 which in my opinion is extremely good value as the kitchen is very well made and will definitely last!
* We were sent this kitchen for the purpose of the review, however all opinions are our own.
