NURSERY WARDROBE STORAGE

As I've mentioned previously the nursery is the smallest room in our house, which means there isn't a lot of space to work with. One thing I am quite glad about is the fact that it has a built in wardrobe. I couldn't bare to imagine trying to fit a wardrobe in the room as there simply would be no room for one! I thought I would share with you all how I've managed to make the most out of the little space that we have, how I've organised baby boys wardrobe and where everything is kept.

On the wardrobe doors I had initially wanted to hand a rail with little storage baskets however I couldn't find one which would fit. I searched high and low and every one was far to big as the wardrobe doors aren't very wide. Eventually I found this over the door storage basket which is exactly what I was looking for! It is expensive for what it is but I couldn't find anything else. In the top basket I keep wipes, the middle will be for nappies and the bottom will be to store baby skincare products. I wanted somewhere I could store lotions out of the way and this was the perfect solution. I'm debating whether to buy another for the other side to keep more bits neat and tidy.

First of all I did have the Ikea cube unit inside however after realising it was taking up a lot of space I decided to take it out and make the most of the space instead. The unit is now in the bedroom and is being used to hide away bedding, toys and other bits and pieces. In the space where the unit originally was in the wardrobe I replaced it was a shoe rack and bought 6 white baskets to keep socks, bibs and any other little bits and bobs which needed tidying away. I think it works well like this as I can easily access them yet it doesn't look messy. On top of the unit I have another couple of wicker baskets which will be used for nappies and more toiletries.

In the two baskets at the bottom of the wardrobe I've decided to keep little blankets and muslins in one and then short sleeved baby grows in the other as they can be easily accessed. These rectangular wicker baskets are from The Basket Company and are perfect for his wardrobe. They actually match with the log basket I bought a while back in his room which I use to keep his bigger blankets and soft toys. The good thing about these baskets is the fact that they are so versatile and can be used for practically anything! They fit perfectly in the space at the bottom however I can move them if needed elsewhere in the house. If you are looking for some storage baskets for the nursery or any room in your house, I'd highly recommend taking a look at The Basket Company.

  6. That's a really clever storage solution. Our nursery is a small room too and we found the Ikea Stuva wardrobe with drawers underneath was a good solution.

  20. Seriously, how do you keep everything so tidy and organized? I'm in the process of decluttering our 2nd bedroom for baby number 2 and need some good storage solutions. I love the basket idea, especially on the door.
