DIY MUM & BABY HAMPER

Being able to put a smile on someone else's face is something I love doing although I'm not a very smiley person myself I do love being able to make someone else happy. I was recently challenged in the Oasis Dental Care campaign to make someone smile so I decided to surprise a good friend of mine who is about to give birth very soon with a new mum and baby hamper. I love receiving gifts like this so I knew it would be something she would appreciate and after all who doesn't love a basket full of goodies? I actually gave it to her at her baby shower recently and she loved it! It was great to see that it put a smile on her face as she has had a pretty tough pregnancy.

I could have just bought a pre-made hamper from the 101 baby boutiques online however I thought it would be extra special if I made it myself, plus handmade gifts are much more personal in my opinion. My friend is actually expecting a baby boy too which will be nice as he can play with our new arrival when they are older and it will be nice to watch their friendship grow.

So last week I went out and bought everything I needed to make the hamper, and of course I ended up buying most of the items for myself too! Here's what I've included in the hamper:

Baby Wipes | Organic Teether | Bath Products | Baby Grow | Mittens | Chocolates | Soft Toy
Baby Powder Yankee Candle | Towel | Book | MAM Bottle | MAM Dummies | Love Boo

This would make a lovely gift for a baby shower and doesn't have to be too costly either if you put your mind to it. You can include anything you like really the options are endless!

Have you ever made a hamper for a friend or family member?

  8. A great idea. I think mum gets forgotten and only gets baby gifts. I think she deserves some nice treats after the ordeal and to make feel special.

  13. This is really nice. I have made a "nappy cake" for a couple of friends - you roll up disposable nappies to make "tiers" of the cake and then "decorate it with different useful items. I cover each tier with a muslin and then top the cake of with a cuddly toy and then make roses out of baby socks and add a few items such as nail scissors, brush etc.
