CHRISTMAS ADVENT CALENDARS 2014

Okay, so it may still only be November but the 1st of December is drawing nearer and if you've not already got your advent calendars ready then take a look at these calendars to get you in the festive spirit. There have been many exciting releases this year and some fond favourites returning for yet another year. This year's offering looks better than ever, of course some are pricey but I have also including many affordable options too.

I've gathered together my favourite advent calendars to share with you, ranging from chocolate calendars to beauty calendars there is something for everyone no matter your age. Let's start off with the less pricey ones, and let's face it who doesn't love a chocolate advent calendar?

Advent Calendars For The Chocolate Lover

I've included a selection of my favourite chocolate advent calendars which I wouldn't mind opening throughout December. I've actually bought the Malteasers and Lindt calendars this year as they are my absolute favourites. Yes I have more than one advent calendar! Some of these would make lovely gifts if you were looking for early Christmas presents.

4. Lindt £5.49
6. Godiva £22
7. Merryteaser £2.49
8. Carluccios £11.95

Advent Calendars For All The Family

I've never owned a traditional advent calendar yet always lust over them in the shops. This year I have decided to make Amelia a Christmas Book Advent and will be using gift tags/pegs to create the countdown. There are so many different types of advents on the market not just chocolate ones, so if you're after something a little different this year I've selected some of my favourites above.

Advent Calendars For The Beauty Lovers

Beauty advent calendars have become ever so popular over the last couple of years, these can be pretty expensive but they are a great alternative to counting down to Christmas and you have products to keep instead of scoffing down chocolate which is gone in seconds. I've also included the Yankee Candle calendars here as these are also very popular this year, I can't wait to open mine and have a new scent to burn everyday until Christmas.

Yankee Candle House £34.99-£44.99
Benefit Candy Coated Countdown Advent £60 (Sold out but can be found on eBay)

For The Kids

Last but most certainly not least, we can't forget the advent calendars for the little ones. Many parents opt to buying a standard chocolate advent calendar which you can pick up in most supermarkets and pound shops as you definitely can't go wrong with these! You can even choose your child's favourite character/TV programme/band or opt for a branded cadbury's advent. Or you could go for something a little different this year like the Playmobil or Lego advent calendars which are great for older children.

Frozen Advent Calendar £1 Poundshop
One Direction £1 Poundshop
Lego Star Wars £29.99
Kinderegg £33

How will you be counting down to Christmas this year?

* I've not been compensated or received any products for this post, I just wanted to share my love for advent calendars with you all!

  5. Great post. The basic calendars that you find in pretty much every corner shop at supermarket right now do get boring don't they! Some great alternatives listed here :) The PlayMobil ones have to be our favourites!

  9. I know they are fun but it's all very materialistic isn't it? I bet some of them don't even have 'Christmasy' pictures inside the little doors.

  10. Wow, that's a comprehensive list! I'm making one this year and it should last as long as we need them. One calendar between them that also doubles as a present sack on Christmas day. Fingers crossed there won't be too many arguments ;)
