One of the things I love the most about waiting on a new arrival is the shopping! Whether that be online or popping out the shops, browsing through catalogues of baby items and furniture it just makes it all that bit more exciting! Choosing somewhere for your new baby to sleep in can be rather daunting as you want it to be somewhere safe, yet if it's your first baby you probably won't know the difference between the numerous amounts of different moses baskets and cribs.
When Amelia was born we had the Moses Basket all set up the week before her due date, she was two weeks late but it was so exciting seeing it next to our bed every night. Unfortunately she hated sleeping in and wanted to be close to me. Seeing as I had a bad delivery I couldn't get out of bed to pick her up so we ended up co-sleeping. Don't get me wrong, I loved co-sleeping but there were times where I wish we didn't, times when I wanted my side of the bed back to be able to stretch out. I encounted so many back problems from sleeping in the same one position as I daren't move incase I rolled over on top of her.
We were recently sent the Izziwotnot Gift Wicker Basket, I opted for white to match the rest of baby boys nursery decor and it's absolutely gorgeous!! The Moses Basket is stylish and will complement both modern or traditional interiors. It's also available in a range of other colours including natural and dark material to suit every taste.
Padded for extra comfort
Foam mattress with wipeable cover
Strong wicker basket with easy to grip leather handles
Soft 100% cotton dressings
Suitable from birth to 9kg
Bunny comforter included
You can also purchase the co-ordinating moses basket stand which is sold separately in either white, natural wood or mahogany. Building the stand was pretty simple and I had it all put together within a matter of minutes. The stand can be folded to store out of sight when not in use and also for easy carrying. I love how light the moses basket is, of course it will be heavier with a newborn in there but it's pretty easy to manoeuvre especially with the leather handles which are very sturdy.
Having a Moses Basket is a great place for baby to sleep whether that be for nap time during the day or for sleeping during the night. We will definitely be trying to get baby boy to sleep in the Moses Basket this time round, and I can't wait for him to arrive so we can use it! I will share a full review once he is he and we have be using it for a while which will more than likely be the end of January depending on when he decides to arrive! I hope he's not two weeks late like his big sister!
You can find out more about this gorgeous Moses Basket and others from the Izziwotnot range over on their website. This retails at £89.99 (stand sold separately) which in my opinion is very reasonable and would make a lovely gift for new parents.
What do you think of the Moses Basket? What colour would you go for?
