DYSON CORDLESS ANIMAL DC59 REVIEW

We were recently sent the Dyson DC59 Animal Cordless Vacuum Cleaner to try out and it's literally become my best friend! I've never been the type of person to keep up with the housework, not because I'm lazy (okay, maybe a little bit) but I've always had a busy lifestyle even before Amelia came along. So when I find out about new and exciting gadgets on the market I get excited at the prospect that I may actually enjoy cleaning!

Our living room always has crumbs on the floor as well as on the sofa, and I'm forever cleaning up after Amelia. That's how life is now with a toddler who likes to make a mess. I could never be bothered to get the hoover out every day before as it was so big and then having the plug it in it was a hassle. The Dyson has been a lifesaver and especially with the bump getting bigger it mean's I don't need to bend down to plug it in every time I move on to the next room.

It was very easy to put together and the first time I used it I couldn't believe the amount of dust it captured, it was actually quite disturbing but good to know that it works well! Once fully charged it's good to go for a good 20 minutes or so. I can vacuum the whole house before the battery runs out and I don't even need to bend down or plug anything in.

I'm extremely impressed at how good the suction is and noticed that it was far better than our previous vacuum. The majority of our house is laminated and the hallway has carpet. I noticed a huge difference in how much cleaner our carpet has become and also the Dyson sucks up every little bit of dirt and dust unlike the old vacuum which would usually leave little specks of paper or dirt on the floor.

It comes with a docking station so you can hand it up to re-charge on the wall when you have finished. I haven't put this up yet as I can't decide on where to put it so the Dyson stands in our kitchen next to the cleaning cupboard at the moment. It doesn't take up much space at all but I think the docking station will be very handy.

I actually don't mind vacuuming the stairs with the Dyson as the attachment head is much smaller and easier to use. Especially with the main unit being lightweight it makes it so much more enjoyable instead of lugging the vacuum up the stairs and usually tripping over the cables in my case.

The Dyson also comes with a number of handy attachments to make cleaning easier. I really like the fact that I can remove the main attachment and use the smaller ones for getting into the corners on the stairs on the sofa. I've even used the Dyson for cleaning the car as the attachments are very handy for that especially as we don't have a hoover for the car.

I no longer find vacuuming a chore anymore and look forward to using the Dyson every day! It's great for a quick clean up after meal times and also before visitors come around. This would be a perfect investment for any size house, apartment or family sized home. I love the fact that it's cordless  and portable - we will never go back to a corded vacuum ever again!

The only thing I have noticed is that it needs emptying more often as it doesn't have a huge capacity but I guess that can also be a good thing as it shows that it's picking up the dust and dirt! I would like to see possibly the chance of leaving the vacuum running on its own instead of having to hold down the button when in use as I tend to sometimes release my finger and have to remind myself to keep hold of it. It's not a big deal but would make things easier.

You can purchase the Dyson Cordless Animal Vacuum Cleaner from John Lewis for £349.99. You may be thinking that it's slightly on the expensive side for vacuum, but I can assure you it's definitely worth it as it's not the type of gadget that you'll keep in the back of the cupboard not being used. We use ours daily and would highly recommend it to everyone! 3. We got sent this last night to try and I am SO excited. We own a Dyson already but since having our kittens who produce lots of mess I am looking forward to trying something a bit more compact. I am a weirdo though, I absolutely love hoovering! ;) x

  5. I hate mine with a passion :( I think mine may be a different version though as it was not as expensive as yours. The suction on mine is completely useless and it sucks up relatively nothing on carpet. It isn't too bad on my tiled kitchen floor. I would like to be persuaded otherwise as I have always heard such good things about Dysons. Unfortunately mine is so rubbish, I am considering buying a cheap hoover just to get by :(

  6. My wife wants one so she can keep it upstairs to avoid the carrying up and down of the large hoover, if I'm not there...

  12. Good vacuum, but it's an expensive vacuum cleaner. Make sure you have properly understood the need for a vacuum cleaner, your budget, the size of your car, suction power, reach and design, battery life and portability.
