A couple of months ago we were very kindly sent this beautiful picnic hamper from House of Fraser. As expected with the good ole British weather we haven't particularly had the best of summer's in terms of weather this year. In fact I can probably count the amount of sunny days on both of my hands, okay maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but whenever we've had the opportunity to get outside and go out for the day the weather has been depressing and either raining or cloudy, definitely not picnic weather.
I have been really eager to go on a picnic ever since the hamper arrived, it's such a gorgeous hamper the photo's really don't do it any justice. I love the lined floral print, it's definitely up my street and it just screams picnic and summer to me! Included inside the hamper is everything you need to wine and dine on your lovely picnic, plates, bowls, glasses, cutlery, napkins and even a bottle opener! I'm impressed at how organised everything is inside and everything stays in it's place even when the hamper is tilted to the side.
The hamper is made from wicker and is a light white/beige colour and the handles are made from faux leather which are definitely not flimsy.
The hamper is really easy and pretty lightweight to carry which is great especially if you're going on a walk. I was surprised at how much you can actually fit inside the hamper as it didn't look like there was a lot of space if you were providing lunch for a larger family, but with a good bit of packing neatly we managed to fit a lot in there for our picnic.
My only critism is that the hamper doesn't stay open for long on it's own, which I guess isn't a bad thing as it keeps the wasps away. Although it would be nice if the top half stayed upright long enough to get everything out without having to hold it open.
I'm looking forward to many more family picnics over the years and hopefully next summer will be nicer and we can make more use out of it and go on nice walks with Amelia and baby boy and enjoy many picnics at the park, beach or down by the lake. I am really impressed at the quality of the hamper, it's very sturdy and I can see it lasting a long time. The hamper retails at £100 and can be purchased from House of Fraser.
