I recently received a packed of tortilla chips in this months Degustabox which I will be sharing my thoughts on soon. This week I wanted to make some dips to enjoy them with and I thought I would try to make some guacamole. I don't like avocados on their own or shop bought guacamole but this tasty recipe is seriously delicious with a few extra added ingredients to give it a kick! It's really simple to make and you only need five ingredients.
As I was only making enough for myself I kept the quantities to a minimum and used 1 avocado, 1 whole lime and a handful of tomatoes. If you were making this for a party or for the family I would suggest 3-4 avocados, and then double up on the other ingredients. This is great for sharing or just for a quick and easy snack.
1. Cut your avocados and take out the seed in the middle. Scoop out all of the excess goodness in the middle and then mush to you preferred consistency. If you want it really chunky then you won't need to mush it up too much. If you want it smooth you could you a hand blender.
2. Now slice up your tomatoes into really small bitesize bits, I cut mine in half and then into fours. Also cut up half a chilli (you could add more if making a big batch) and add into the bowl with the avocados. Now add sprigs of coriander and give it a stir.
3. Add in the juice of a lime (or two limes to make it extra tangy) and stir again ensuring all the ingredients are mixed together.
4. Now for the taste test! Here you can add any extra ingredients you may need to even out the flavours. I prefer mine really tangy with a kick of chilli and lime.
