As you may already know we have been receiving the Degustabox monthly food subscription box for the past few months and this will be our 5th box and it is yet to disappoint. I'm not usually a fan of subscription boxes, or maybe I just haven't found the right one for me. That was until I was introduced to Degustabox! There's nothing more exciting than having a package delivered to your door each month full of lots of goodies to try out! What makes it even more exciting is the fact that you have no idea what's inside.
Here's what was inside September's box:
Crabbie's Lemondade (330ml = £1.20)
Crabbie's Alcoholic Fruits (£1.50)
Crabbie's Alcoholic Fruits (£1.50)
Starting with the drinks this month we have alcoholic and non alcholic options which is great for pregnant women like myself as I've been rather jealous every month when Andy has been getting bottles of alcohol to try. He said the crabbies was really nice and reminded him of Hooch. I drank the lemonade which actually has a hint of ginger in it. The ginger isn't too overpowering which is great as I'm not usually keen on ginger in drinks.
Little Miracles (£1.59 per bottle)
We received two of these bottles in the flavours green tea blend and lemongrass tea blend. They are both organic and free from artificial sweeteners, colours and flavours. I don't usually drink these type of drinks but they are great for busy people on the go or just to get a boost of energy. Best served chilled! I've only tried the lemongrass so far and personally it was a bit too strong for me as I'm not really a fan of any of the ingredients in either of them but it was still very refreshing. There are other flavours available and I must say the White tea and cherry & Black tea and peach sound lovely so I will be looking out for those in the shops and I think I would prefer those flavours. If you're into organic drinks of this type I would definitely recommend giving them a go! You can buy them from Superdrug, Boots, Asda and Tesco as far I know.
Carnation cook with it! (£3.30 / £1.65 each)
When I first took these out of the box I was wondering what on earth they were as I'd never seen them before. They are creamy sauces for savour dishes such as carbonara, which is a great alternative to cream but with 1/2 the amount of fat. I can't wait to cook with these soon.
Righteous (£2.19 / 225ml bottle = £2.49)
These little pots are tasters of the Righteous range, I've never heard of these before either but they sound like lovely sauces for salad dressing. I'm not a salad eater but I'm sure I'll find something to use these with as they do sound delicious!
Jordans Simply Granola (£2.69)
I'm not a huge breakfast person so rarely eat cereal or granola however I thought I'd give this a go and it's actually really nice! I couldn't eat it every day as I don't have breakfast every day but if I needed something quick to fill me up before work this is perfect. I had mine with some yoghurt and strawberries.
La Vieja Fabrica (£1.59)
I'll be honest, I hate marmalade so this is waiting on my kitchen counter to go home with my mum when I next see her.
Pick Up! (5 pack = £1.69)
I'm not a huge biscuit eater but these are so handy for taking to work or sticking in your bag when your on the go for snacking on. I've tried the milk chocolate ones and both Amelia and I approve. Somebody told me to keep them in the fridge too, so they're currently in there now and I can't wait to see if they taste even better cooler! I've never actually come across these in the shops before, but if I do I shall pick some up as they're great for having in the cupboard.
Elizabeth Shaw (£2.50)
These are by far my favourite product in the box this month. I love Elizabeth Shaw chocolate and these are one of the best I've tried. They remind me of after eights but with a crunch. These would be perfect for Christmas or as a gift for somebody. Of course they've all gone already!
Burts Lentil Waves (£2.07 / £0.69 per pack)
I love finding alternatives for crisps, especially ones which are much healthier for you. With three different flavours to choose from; Thai Sweet Chilli, Sour Cream & Chive and Lightly Salted these are gluten free and available to purchase from Waitrose. My favourite were the Thai Sweet Chilli followed by Lightly Salted as I'm not a fan of Sour Cream. These are great as they're not as fattening as a normal packet of crisps yet fill you up just the same. Perfect for lunch boxes and snacking.
So there we have it, that's what was included in this months box. I was really impressed with the contents as usual, some products which we love and will definitely purchase again and others which we're not as keen on but are still great to try out. I love finding new products every month, even if some of the products aren't our personal taste it's still great to see what else is out there.
I still can't believe that the subscription box is just £12.99 a month! Especially for the amount of products you receive and the value is always much more! If you would like to sign up for your own box please visit www.degustabox.co.uk and you can also use the discount code 4784589 at the checkout for £3.00 your first box!
