We're at the halfway mark and have made it to 20 weeks! I honestly can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going, I know I say it every week but it's true. It only feels like yesterday that we announced we were pregnant! To think I only found out I was pregnant with Amelia around this stage is crazy. This week baby is the size of a banana, which is pretty bizarre as I can't imagine the baby being the same size as a banana in my belly. Maybe one of those small kids bananas ha ha!
I had my first craving this week! Well I've actually been thinking about them for weeks now but never had the urge to actually go and buy one. I had been lusting over Costa's chocolate cream coolers! I used to drink them all the time however hadn't been to Costa in months and a new store has not long opened up down the road at the retail park above Next. Every time I drive past I have been resisting the urge to stop and buy one and this week I finally went. I've also been back a couple more times since as I can't get enough of them!
Since my stomach bug and cold have finally gone I have finally got my appetite back and boy does it show! I've been so bloated this week its awful! I feel horrible, even first thing in the morning which I've never had before. By the end of the day I look and feel like a whale. All of my clothes are still fitting me however my work trousers which are a very small size 6 are getting a bit tight so I may have to invest in a bump band as size 8 will be far to big on my legs and waist. I may buy a few pairs of maternity jeans further down the line though as they do look comfortable but we'll see as I got away with wearing my normal ones last pregnancy.
I'm no longer sleeping on my front, ever since Amelia has been sleeping in her own bed and I've had more space in our bed I started sleeping half on my side and half on my front until she would come through in the middle of the night. This week I've stopped doing so, I could probably get away with it for a few more weeks but to be honest it's starting to become slightly uncomfortable. I think I'll have to get out the pregnancy pillows soon!
Braxton hicks have been in full force again this week, and seem to be worse when I'm either sat down or during the evening. They seem to last for around a minute at a time which I don't ever remember doing so when I started getting them with Amelia not the early ones anyway. I've had lots more movement this week too which is nice and can feel harder kicks which sometimes stop me in my tracks especially if it happens to be near my bladder!
My hair has been absolutely horrendous this pregnancy! I remember last time my hair got really thick and was in good condition, this time it's been very hard to please and has been left looking dull and lifeless. I think it's in need of a good hair cut and I might treat myself to a new colour too as I've not dyed it in around a year! This week I've also noticed that I've been needing to pee all the time and if I get woken up at night I end up making a bathroom trip.
That's it for week 20, if you missed last week's update click here. We have our 20 week scan coming up on Tuesday so I will update you on that in next weeks post.
