18 Week Pregnancy Update - Baby #2

This week baby is the size of a sweet potato, which I find a bit silly as a comparison because the sweet potatoes I buy come in all different shapes and sizes ha ha! Baby boy is now 6.7oz and growing  more each week. I am feeling more movement this week usually more so in the evenings. In the mornings when I wake up my bump tends to be very hard where my uterus is, which feels weird. Sometimes it can be on the side or in the middle of my stomach.

At the weekend Amelia and I were quite poorly, I think we must have caught a stomach bug which wasn't nice! Especially as I couldn't eat anything which isn't good when pregnant! The bug lasted all week and wasn't very pleasant. I am now back to my normal self apart from a cold which is good and the stomach cramps have also gone after eating which is a relief!

I finally had my midwife appointment on Tuesday, my last one was at 10 weeks oops! I was told to book one for after my 12 week scan but the weeks have just flown by and we've been busy. Everything was fine, and I got to hear the babies heartbeat. I'm measuring right on track and my iron levels have improved slightly but are still very low. My next appointment isn't until i'm 28 weeks which is good, very different than last time as I had to go pretty much every two weeks due to be high risk. But I've heard they tend not to be as concerned during your second pregnancy.

I have been buying lots of clothes for baby boy this week and a few bits for his Nursery which I can't wait to show you all! I may have gone a bit mad but hey we don't have any clothes for him as Amelia's are all pink. I have made a head start on clearing out the spare room which will eventually be the nursery and I've also found a cot that I like which is on sale from it's original price which is great so I may buy that in the next few weeks as it will save me £200! I know I'm not even half way through this pregnancy yet but I feel like the weeks are flying by and it will be Christmas and then his due date before I know it so I like to plan ahead and have everything ready. Last time round I left everything until the last few weeks as I was moving back to Wales and I ended up stressing out as I wasn't prepared.

You can check out my 17 week update here if you missed it and also don't forget to pop back next week for my 19 week pregnancy update.
