Guide To Buying A House

Buying a house can be a rather difficult challenge, especially if you are trying to get on the property ladder for the first time. The average person in the UK doesn't buy their own house until they are 30 unless they have parental help. Many people struggle to get the deposit together and it seems to be a hurdle that many first time buyers can't seem to climb over. We are currently rending and have been since I moved out back in 2011. With the price of living increasing it's becoming harder to save as monthly bills have become more expensive. We would love to own our own home one day and will continue to save until we are able to.

This infographic gives a step by step guide to buying a house, from what additional expenses you will need to cover, where to start looking for a home to exchanging contracts. It's very useful and interesting for those who are currently looking at buying a house and for those who wish to in the future to give you a rough idea on what you will need to consider.

How long did it take you to buy your own home?

  2. We've bought one. Everything started October 2013 I think. We made an offer in before Christmas and it got accepted on the 2nd offer. We didn't get the keys until start of April but didn't move until end of April. Was very long, expensive and stressful process. But worth it - still lots of work needs doing but we will get there one day I guess.
