Cream And White Living Room

If I didn't have a toddler who loves to smear her food all over the furniture and pour her juice everywhere this is how I would love my living room to be. I've been loving neutral and calm colours a lot recently and even though our living room is pretty neutral now apart from the black leather sofas which I despise. I just couldn't imagine having a neutral coloured sofa as it would be so filthy from grubby hands and hard to keep clean. I guess we will have to wait now until Amelia is older to buy new sofas and perhaps then I can redecorate the living room.

I've always loved corner sofas, from the moment I decided to move out at the age of 20 I knew I wanted a corner sofa in my apartment. I didn't really look around that much and settled on a cheap corner sofa with chassis. When it arrived I was very disappointment as it wasn't very comfortable and very hard to put together as I bought one of those build your own sofas. Luckily I moved 9 months later and got rid of the sofa.

Our living room now wouldn't fit a corner sofa as it has a weird shape and it would look strange without having two sofas. However I've always wondered how I would decorate the room with a corner sofa and some day I would love to have one again as they are very cosy and make use of great space in smaller homes. The Rowan Chaise sofa from Homebase would go perfectly along with the pieces I've chosen above. As you can probably tell I love white and cream and have been trying to get rid of the darker items in our living room and replacing them with shabby chic or light wood.

I guess you could say this is how I would love my living room if I lived on my own in an apartment again.

What do you think of cream and white for a living room theme?

  1. I'm 100% with you. We have a neutral living room, but I had to compromise on the sofas which I actually despise. I cannot wait to redo the entire room and make it a calm space... I have an 8mo, so it may be a while *sigh*

  2. Ahh, wouldn't it be lovely to decorate without looking at things and thinking how mucky it would get. We have a horrible cheap red sofa but I'm not changing it till the boys are older! Looks like this would make a lovely calm space xx
