We all know how deceiving the British weather can be, one minute it's lovely and sunny and the next it's pouring down with rain. This week we have had more rain than we did back in January, who would have thought that it was June!! We can never predict whether our summer will be full of heat waves or weeks of downpours. Luckily for us, House of Fraser got in touch and kindly asked us to choose some items of clothing perfect for the British Summer for Amelia.
House of Fraser have a lovely range of clothing for little ones and also items for the nursery which I have bookmarked most of them for when we start shopping for baby number 2! After browsing the shoe collection and raincoat section we chose some new Hunter Wellies for Amelia as hers are getting too small so I ordered these in the next size up to hopefully fit her until winter this year. I love the pale pink colour and they're so lovely and girly. I will definitely be keeping these as they are too lovely not to, and also incase the next baby is a girl! I've kept all of Amelia's old Hunter's as they are just so nice.
Amelia has many jackets which are quite lightweight and not all waterproof. I was immediately drawn towards this reversible gillet and knew that I had to buy it. It's so pretty and I love the fact that you can turn it inside out and you have another choice of outfits. I thought this would be perfect for the British weather as it's great to wear with long sleeved tops and can be worn if its raining or even when it's not. The smallest size that the gillet was available in was 2-3 so it is pretty big on Amelia as she's still in 12-18/18-24 month clothing but at least I know she will get plenty of use out of it.
The weather here in North Wales hasn't been to great recently, we have days of glorious sun and day where you don't want to leave the house because it's so wet. Last week Amelia and I went out with my mum for the day so on the way over to hers we stopped at a local nature reserve we used to visit a lot when Amelia was younger. It was pretty overgrown but Amelia had fun running around and playing in the stream. Then the rain came out of no where, we got soaked and ended up running back to the car whilst having a whirl of a time splashing through puddles and getting soaked of course!
We don't often get to play outside in the rain as I'd much rather be sat playing indoors but it was just one of those days where I didn't care if we got soaked through, I didn't care that Amelia was splashing through muddy puddles, she was having fun and the smile on her face said it all.
