16 Week Pregnancy Update - Baby #2

This week baby is the size of an avocado and weighs roughly around 3.5oz, these weeks seem to be flying by and it really is true that it goes so much quicker the second time round. I've not really had any symptoms this week and don't really feel pregnant other than when I haven't eaten for a while and feel sick or light headed.

Still no cravings, and I've still gone off all of my favourite foods. I can never decide on what to eat and my cupboards are full of junk food sat waiting to be eaten. Water has been making me gag this week usually when I'm taking my pregnacare tablets in the morning, I'm not really a fan of water in the first place so I think I may have to make sure it's ice cold next time as I seem to be able to drink that easier.

I haven't put any weight on yet which is very strange as I'm definitely bigger although I never put weight on my hips so probably won't need to go up a dress size. I was lucky enough last time to wear my size 6 jeans/leggings my whole pregnancy but I do think I'll need to buy some maternity wear this time round just for comfort. I'm starting to look frumpy in t-shirts so think I may have to get the baggy ones out until my bump gets bigger.

I have no nickname for bump yet nothings really stuck with me, I always see people with nicknames for theirs but I didn't have one for Amelia either so probably will end up just calling the baby 'bump' ha ha! What did you name your baby/bump whilst pregnant?

You can read my 15 week pregnancy update here incase you missed it and I'll be back next Friday for week 17 (and a gender reveal sometime soon!)

  1. When pregnant with my daughter she had the nickname "Roo" She still get's called Eva-Roo 5 years on. She also came up with the nickname for our son's 'bump'. I had awful morning sickness, and we hadn't told her I was pregnant, she just thought I had a bug in my tummy, the name "Bug" stuck. (He still get's called Bug too)

  9. When I was pregnant the Pregnacare (and everything else I was taking) used to make me gag so it was suggested I take them at night. I used to lay them out on the duvet in my lap as I read my book at bed time, and take ten minutes or more to take them. It helped with the sicky feeling!
I had the water thing too - it felt like I could taste when water had been sitting around for too long, so I would run the tap for a few minutes before putting my glass under it.

  11. I know what you mean about losing your appetite! During these weeks of pregnancy (and before these weeks) it can be so tough to keep food down. Baby needs so many nutrients during this stage of development, so keeping up with nutrient-dense foods is really important. There are actually some forms of food that make it easier to eat the right foods and avoid the nausea while keeping baby equipped with all the necessary nutrients :)
