The Control Grip All In One By Sage

I have been telling myself for a while now that I would really like to get back into cooking, after I had a lazy few months and ended up eating ready meals and takeaways I can now safely say I am back on track and eating at least 4 home cooked meals a week which is good for me and now I have no excuses not to not be hands on in the kitchen as a few months ago we were very kindly sent The Control Grip All In One from Sage by Heston Blumenthal to try out and put through it's paces. We have now been using it for the past few months and it's become a favourite gadget in the kitchen.

I've never had a food processor before, so had previously been using a hand mixer so this was so nice to be able to experiment more. Firstly, let me tell you just how easy it is to use! I have used various food processors in the past and this has to be the easiest by far! The interactions are easy to use and it comes already built in the box so no need to fiddle with bits when you open the box.

I really like the way it all comes on a base and each piece of equipment can be slotted in so it all stays together. I'll be honest, when I opened the box I was slightly overwhelmed with the machine, so many different uses and as I'm not that experienced in the kitchen I had no idea what I would use it for!

I've now had the pleasure of using the food mixer to make soups, pate, mash, salsa and dips, hummus, chopping vegetables, milkshakes and even pizza dough! The first thing I tried was the stick blender and I made some smoked salmon pate which I had never made before. It was great being able to choose the desired texture of consistency and was super fast and effortless. Using the slicer was just as simple and all you need to do is select the setting and the machine does the rest. It can chop everything from carrots, sweet potato to onions and it slices them perfectly each time saving you and your fingers a lot of time and accidents with sharp knives.

With the Control Grip All In One, the large bowl is a great size for all types of food you wish to place inside. I found that with my small blender which I mainly used for smoothies when ever I would use it to make soups all the contents would get stuck at the bottom and would be wasted however with this bowl you can remove all the attachments and easily save the contents. The little shoot on the top is handy for being able to drop items through instead of stopping and opening the lid each time.

Pro's
  • Dishwasher safe parts
  • High quality attachments
  • Easy to use
  • Compact storage stand - Everything fits neatly on the base so easily at hand
  • Many power settings allowing you to increase or decrease the power easily

Con's
  • If you have limited storage space it can take up a bit of room
  • Cable can sometimes get in the way when using the detachable leg
  • The whisk is slightly flimsy

I've really enjoyed having help in the kitchen preparing vegetables and potatoes and it's made my preparation time much quicker. I think will mainly be using the processor to make soups and pate's but it's great to have if I need it for other things too. Although, I've not owned any other food processors, I have a small blender which I mainly use for smoothies and have used many different branded processes and I would highly recommend The Control Grip All In One by Sage especially if you are looking for a powerful processor which can do more than any normal processor.

What I love the most is the little stand that holds everything in place without having to rummage through the cupboard looking for numerous attachments. I also like the fact that its modern looking and looks great on my counter top in the kitchen! I can't wait to make many more recipies and dips in years to come!

  4. Odd question, how do you store the whisk? I can't quite see from the photograph and I'm really struggling to find anywhere to put it other than the drawer!
