You may remember me mentioning last month that we had become book buddies at Paragon Books, being a member means we are lucky enough to receive a new book each month for Amelia to read. Amelia has really gotten into her books recently and will now sit down and read them to herself where as a few months ago she wouldn't sit still and listen or read them herself. This month's book to add to her collection is the Spots & Dots First Patterns Playbook from the Little Learners range.
The first thing that we noticed is how bright and colourful the book is, it definitely draws you in. The book is full of vibrant illustrations teaching simple patterns such as dots and stripes and more.
Amelia's favourite page is the one full of lots of stripy insects over the rainbow, she loves pointing at the colours when I read them out and she loves looking at all of the creatures.
The book has a cut out handle making it easier for babies and toddler to hold whilst flicking through. It's a really great chunky book but lightweight too.
The book is small and lightweight enough for Amelia to hold herself as some bigger books can be harder sometimes. She loves grabbing it off her book shelves on the wall and sitting down in her reading corner. We usually go upstairs before lunch to play in her room and she always goes for the book first. We also read it before bedtime and she loves reading it with Daddy as he is a better reader with kids books than I am.
We love Parragon books as they are always really creative with their stories and book designs, always full of beautiful illustrations which catch the eye. We're looking forward to finding out what next months book is. You can read our review of the Jiggly Giraffe Book here.
If you're looking for a fun book for your baby or toddler you can purchase the Spots & Dots book here. Parragon also have a Cow Says Moo Book which is in the same style which you can find here, I have bought this for Amelia since she loves the other one so much I think she will like this too.
Do you have any recommendations on similar books to these?
* We were sent the Spot & Dots book as members of the Parragon Book Buddy club.
