Baking With Amelia

On Monday morning we decided to bake some cupcakes. I've never really baked with her before, simply because she never usually will see an activity through for longer than 5 minutes before she gets distracted unless she's colouring, but now that she's older I thought I'd give it another go. I let her stand up on the chair and after I had mixed the ingredients in allowed Amelia to 'mix' too. She loved it! As you can see she got stuck right in and was licking the chocolate!

You may be wondering why there's no photos of the cupcakes or of Amelia eating them... that's because we were upstairs playing and I forgot they were baking until after nearly an hour suddenly remembered and ran downstairs to find I had burnt them all!! Yep that's mummy brain for you. We then went on to make some bunny bait for Easter which you can see the recipe here. Amelia loved helping make this and kept eating the popcorn!

Does your toddler like to help in the kitchen?

  5. Tuesday has become Baking Day in our household. John absolutely loves it! This week it was banana muffins & I think we ended up with less than half the banana we needed after he'd helped himself.

Love that you forgot about your cupcakes though! I'm awful for forgetting about things in the oven and only realising as the house fill with smoke.
