Amelia's Reading Corner

Ever since I found out I was pregnant with Amelia and flicking through numerous pictures on Pinterest for ideas on how to do her nursery I knew I wanted to do some sort of reading corner for her in her bedroom. I never got round to doing one in her nursery at our old house and then we moved and I had forgotten about it until I did up her toddler room. I have visioned it for a while now, how I would imagine it looking, seeing Amelia sitting down and reading her books all cosy with fairy lights and lots of cushions. Snuggling up at night to read a book before bed.

This week I decided to finally do it and ordered a drill on Amazon so I could put up her shelves which I bought months and months ago, then on Tuesday I put them up and once again moved her room around. It's not exactly how I imagined it to look but I had to work with what I already had in her room, I did want a big cushioned seating areas with lots of pretty cushions and a canopy with fairy lights but I decided to put up her wigwam instead and it's actually not too bad. Knowing me, I will probably change it around again soon so you'll probably see another post from me soon!

What do you think? Does your child have a reading area?

  3. Looks beautiful! We have always had reading places, first in eldest's bedroom with comfy cushions and a wooden box on wheels full of books, plus a basket of teddies :) But then it moved to the playroom. With four children we ended up with a LOT of books!

  10. Both my children have reading areas but at ages 2 and 4 they just read some books and then trash the place! Fingers crossed they'll learn how to tidy up after themselves soon.

  11. We have a bookcase in the lounge with their books on and their little armchairs. In their bedroom they have a few books but at the moment as they're only 2 and 1 they only use their bedroom for sleeping in x

  12. Lucky Amelia! That looks like a lovely place to sit and read - I could get in there myself! My children tend to read in their bed of on the sofa, we don't really have room for anything like this.
