Puddle Jumping & Colourful Wellies

Last week on our mid week break I had hoped for glorious sunshine or at least for it not to be raining. On the day of arrival the it was raining but that didn't stop us from getting out for a walk and some puddle jumping. Luckily Amelia's new wellies had both arrived the day before we went away so I was able to pack them. She's never really had the opportunity to jump in puddles before so it was good for her to be able to run about and splash through them. The village we stayed at was in the middle of no where, with not even a shop or restaurant so there wasn't really much else to do other than go for a walk. As we didn't have the car either we were pretty much stranded, it was nice to be away from everything and just relax.

The next day the weather was even worse! We attempted to leave the apartment first thing in the morning to see what the weather was like. As soon as we were out the door we were struggling to stand it was dreadful, it we were struggling surely Amelia wouldn't be able to walk. The roads were all flooded as the river had burst its banks so we couldn't cross of the river. She wouldn't go in the pushchair either as she was being a stroppy madam so we ended up going back inside and watching films in front of the fire and keep warm. After lunch the wind and rain had seemed to have eased of a bit so we decided to chance it and get out for a quick walk. Amelia has been loving walking recently and knows when we are going for a walk, the look on her face is of excitement. We managed to get her in the pushchair without any fuss this time as it was still windy we decided to see what it was like first before letting her walk. We took a quick walk around the village and then took the pushchair back and off we went on our walk.

We were heading home on the Friday morning and just typical that it happened the be sunny!! We were due to leave at 11am so as we were up and ready by 9.30 we decided to go for a walk before leaving. I wish I had put Amelia's wellies on because as soon as she saw the puddles she let go of our hands and we thought she was running off but she ran straight over the the biggest puddle ever and jumped straight in it. She was absolutely drenched! It's such a shame the weather had other ideas as we had hoped to get down to the beach but the road was impassable! Amelia seemed to have a nice time away as did we, it was nice to take a break and get away even if the weather wasn't that great. We loved our accommodation and had a fun few days together as a family which was very much needed as we don't get to spend time together very often.
