It's the most romantic day of the year...it's always been about expensive meals, buying gifts and sweet indulgences. But if you are both tired of the same old traditions why not give him or her an experience both of you will enjoy without breaking the bank. Here are some unique and romantic ways to celebrate Valentine's Day with a lot of them being in the comfort of your own home.
Make him/her breakfast in bed - Start the day by making your Valentine breakfast in bed. Pinterest have some lovely ideas for breakfast treat which you could try out if you are wanting to be creative. You can then both get back in bed and well you know... before you know it, it's lunch time!
Stay in bed all day - If you have no where to go why not make the most of the day and spend it in bed! You can stay in your pjs, grab some breakfast and watch your favourite movies all day!
Go for a massage - Going for a massage isn't just for women. A relaxing massage is just the thing to get you both in mood for Valentine's Day so go on go for it! If you'd rather not go to a spa get out the massage oils and take it in turns to give each other a massage at home instead.
Go for a walk - If the weather isn't too dull why not wrap up warm and head out for a nice romantic walk. Depending on where you live this could be in the countryside or through the city. Explore the area you live in and have a nice chat along the way. Buy some hot chocolates along the way and have a nice day out in each others company.
Have a games night - Buy in some snacks, beers and get out the games. You could even play games online such as Bingo and quizzes or simply get out some board games and have a nice of fun together at home.
Cook a romantic meal - Even if you aren't great at following recipes it's the thought that counts and it will be fun! It much more thoughtful than ordering a take out and they will appreciate it. You could even cook it together and if it doesn't turn out the way you wanted you could always order a take out!
Cosy evening in front of the fire - You could decorate the area with lights, cushions, blankets and get out some champagne and chocolates and snuggle up in front of the fire.
I hope this has given you some ideas on how to spend Valentine's Day this year.
